Hidden number on Xiaomi can be a nuisance: your contacts canโt see who is calling them, and some services (banks, taxis, delivery) refuse to accept calls from anonymous numbers. In this article, we will discuss how to disable the number detection ban on Redmi, POCO and other models of the brand โ through standard settings, engineering menus and carriers.
The problem is relevant for devices on MIUI 14/15 and Android 13/14, where the path to settings may be different from the older versions. We tested all methods on Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and POCO X5 Pro models - instructions work on 90% of the brand's devices. If your model is older than 2019, check out the section on outdated versions of MIUI.
Important: some carriers (such as Tele2 or Iota) may ignore the phoneโs settings and force the number to be hidden, which will require a separate setup by the mobile provider, as we will discuss below.
Why the number can be automatically hidden
There are three main reasons why your Xiaomi number is โundefinedโ:
- ๐ฑ Phone settings: in MIUI There is a separate switch to hide the number when outgoing calls (on accidentally or after resetting the settings).
- ๐ก Operator policy: some tariffs (especially corporate or unlimited minutes) by default hide the subscriber number.
- ๐ง Software failures: after the update MIUI shift SIM-Settings cards are reset and the phone starts to hide the number.
The simplest case is when the problem is in the settings of the smartphone itself. You can check this in 1 minute:
โ ๏ธ Note: If you use two of these SIM-maps, number hiding settings may differ for each slot!
Itโs also worth considering that some messengers (like WhatsApp or Viber) ignore system settings and always pass your number.
Method 1: Disconnect via standard MIUI settings
This is the basic method that works on all modern Xiaomi smartphones (2020 and later) and the instructions are relevant for MIUI 14/15:
- Open the Phone app (the tube icon on the desktop).
- Click on three dots in the upper right corner (โฎ) and select Settings.
- Go to the Additional Settings section (or on some models).
- Find the item Subscriber Identification or Number Definition.
- Select the default Network or Show Number option (depending on the MIUI version).
If you have a dual-sim phone, repeat the steps for each slot separately. On some firmware, the path may be slightly different:
Application opens"|Finding a section "Additional settings"|Item "Subscriber Identification" is available|For each SIM-Card selected "Show number"
-->
When you change your settings, restart your phone to apply the changes to your current carrier session, and if you don't have subscriber ID, then your version of MIUI doesn't support it, move on to the next method.
โ ๏ธ Note: At some rates MTS and Beeline operator can block the change of this setting, in this case, after changing the settings, the number will still be hidden.
Method 2: Use of the Engineering Menu (for advanced)
If standard settings don't work, you can try to change the settings through the engineering menu, which requires caution, because incorrect actions can disrupt the network.
Instructions for Xiaomi based on Qualcomm Snapdragon (most models of Redmi and POCO):
- Open the phone app and enter the combination: ##4636##
- In the menu that appears, select Phone Information (or Phone Information).
- Scroll down to the Set preferred network type block.
- Below, find CLIR Setting (or Call Line Identification Restriction).
- Set the Default (use network default) or Show number.
For Mediatek processors (Redmi 9, POCO M3, etc.), the combination is different:
##36446337##When you change the settings, be sure to restart the phone, otherwise the settings will not apply. If the engineering menu is missing or the items are inactive, this means that the operator blocks the change in the parameters at the level. SIM-map.

Method 3: Configure through USSD-operator
If the problem is with the mobile operator's tariff, the standard phone settings won't help, so you have to turn off the ISP's cover-up. USSD-teams for popular operators:
| Operator. | Command to disable concealment | Team for status check |
|---|---|---|
| MTS | *111*310# | *111*31# |
| Beeline | *110*310# | *110*31# |
| MegaFon | *130*310# | *130*31# |
| Tele2. | *155*310# | *155*31# |
| iota | Calling for support (8-800-550-00-05) | โ |
After shipping. USSD-You'll get the commands. SMS If the command does not work, contact the operator via:
- ๐ Calling a short number (e.g. 0890 for Beeline).
- ๐ฌ Chats in official applications (My MTS, MegaFon Personal Account).
- ๐ Personal account on the operator's website (section "Services" โ "Number settings").
โ ๏ธ Note: At corporate rates or tariffs with unlimited minutes, the operator can forcibly hide the number, in which case the function can only be disabled through the corporate customer manager.

Method 4: Reset your network settings (if nothing helps)
If all previous methods failed, the problem may be a network setting conflict, in which case the network reset will help:
- Go to Settings. โ SIM-maps and mobile networks.
- Select Network Settings Reset (or Wi-Fi, Mobile Network, and Bluetooth Reset).
- Confirm the action and wait for the phone to restart.
- After turning on, reconfigure the connection to the mobile network (enter PIN-code, select the operator manually).
This method removes all stored Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth passwords and APN settings. Not to be confused with a full reset of the phone - it is not required here. After reset, check the number definition settings again (see Method 1).
If the problem persists, it may be the fault of the problem itself. SIM-Try the map:
- ๐ Replace. SIM-card to another slot (if the phone is two-simulated).
- ๐ Replace SIM-card for a new one (refer to the operatorโs salon).
- ๐ฑ Test. SIM-card.
๐ก
Before resetting the network, save your Wi-Fi passwords: open Settings โ Wi-Fi, click on the network name and copy the password.
Features for older versions of MIUI (until 2019)
On Xiaomi smartphones released before 2019 (e.g. Redmi Note 5, Mi A2), the path to the number settings may be different.
Option 1 (MIUI 9/10):
- Open Settings โ System applications โ Phone โ Call settings.
- Select additionally โ Subscriber identification.
- Set the Network by default.
Option 2 (Android One, e.g. Mi A1/A2):
- Go to Settings โ Network and Internet โ Mobile Network โ More.
- Find the option Additional settings โ Subscriber identification.
Very old firmware (MIUI 8 and below) may require manual editing of the build.prop file, but it is risky and requires root rights. If your phone is older than 2017 and hasn't been updated, consider switching to custom firmware (like LineageOS).
๐ก
On Xiaomi phones older than 5 years, standard methods may not work due to outdated versions MIUI. In this case, only a firmware update or replacement will help. SIM-map.
Frequent Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
When trying to disable the number ban, users often encounter typical problems, and here are the most common ones and ways to solve them:
- ๐ "Settings are reset after rebooting": This means that the operator enforces its settings. The solution is to contact support and request the disabling of the Anti-AON service".

- ๐ถ "After shift. SIM-The number of cards is hidden again: SIM It may have different settings. Repeat the procedure for disabling the concealment for the new number.
If you use a virtual operator (e.g. Tinkoff Mobile, SberMobile), the settings may differ.
- Check the tariff conditions on the operator's website.
- Use it. USSD-commands of the main operator (for example, for Tinkoff Mobile - Tele2 commands).
