Smart TVs Xiaomi Mi TV (including the Mi models TV 4A/4S/4X/5/5 Pro/Q1/Q2) They work on Android. All instructions are tested on current versions of the software (2026).
1. Soft reboot via the settings menu
The safest way is to use the built-in options of the system, suitable if the TV responds to the remote, but is unstable (slows down, applications do not open, sound is lost).
Instructions for PatchWall (most Xiaomi Mi TV models):
- Press the Settings button on the remote.
- Go to Settings → About TV → Reboot.
- Confirm the action with the OK button.
For Android TVs (e.g. Mi TV Q1/Q2):
- 📺 Open the Settings. → The device → Reboot.
- ⚙️ Alternative path: Hold the Home button on the remote for 5 seconds → select Reboot.

If the menu does not have the option of “Reboot”, try to update the firmware – in older versions of PatchWall (until 2021), this option is sometimes hidden.
Reboot time: usually 30 to 60 seconds. If the process is longer than 2 minutes, it is a sign of a system failure (see the section on forced reset).
2. Forced reboot with buttons on the body
If the TV doesn't respond to the remote or is stuck on a black screen, use physical buttons, which are positioned according to the model.

Important: on some models (e.g. Mi TV A Pro), the Power button is paired with an indicator. If the indicator flashes red, the TV is already trying to reboot, don't interrupt the process!
3. Reboot via remote (hidden combinations)
Few people know, but the Xiaomi Mi Remote remote supports service combinations that can help even with heavy freezes.
- 🔄 Home + Back (back) + OK — Hold 8 seconds for a forced restart.
- ⚡ Menu + Volume Up + Volume Down – Cache reset (does not delete data!).
- 🔍 Settings (cogs) + Mute – opens the engineering menu (only for experienced users!).
If the remote is not working, check:
- 🔋 Batteries (even if the indicator is on, they can be discharged).
- 📶 Obstacles between the remote and the IR receiver of the TV.
- 🔄 Try to bring the remote to a distance of 10-15 cm to the TV - sometimes helps with a weak signal.

Note: On Bluetooth models (such as the Mi TV Q2 75), the combinations may not work – use buttons on the case.
4.Reboot via ADB (for advanced users)
If the TV is on but not responsive to the remote and buttons, you can try rebooting it via Android Debug Bridge (ADB).
- Enable USB debugging in the developer settings (Settings → About TV → Software version – press 7 times on the build number).
- Connect the TV to your PC via USB (the port is usually located on the back).
- Enter in the command line: adb devices If the device is displayed, execute: adb shell reboot

Warning: Do not use the adb shell reboot bootloader or fastboot commands – this can lead to data loss or bootloader lockdown!
5. factory reset (if rebooting doesn't help)
If the TV is constantly hanging or not turning on even after a forced reboot, a complete reset may be required, which will remove all installed apps, accounts and settings.
Resetting methods:
- 📺 Menu (if TV is running): Settings → On TV. → Data reset (may be referred to as "Recovery and resetting").

Resetting to factory settings deletes all data, including app licenses (such as Netflix or Disney+), and will have to be activated again after resetting!

Even after a reboot, the TV may not work properly.

If the TV does not turn on after the restart at all (no indication, does not respond to buttons), check:
