Why canβt you find your Redmi bookmarks?
You saved an important page and now you can't find it? The problem is familiar to many Xiaomi Redmi owners, because bookmarks can be stored in three different places: in the browser (Chrome, Mi Browser or another), in the MIUI file system manager, and sometimes even in the Xiaomi Cloud cloud storage, and if you search for them through a phone search, the system may simply not index this data.
Another common reason is sync with your Google account, where if you logged in to your browser under your profile, bookmarks could fly to the cloud and now only show up when you log in. And in some Redmi models (like Redmi Note 10 Pro or Redmi 12), the bookmarks are hidden by default in the Bookmarks folder inside the system partition /data, where you can not look without root permissions.
In this article, we will look at all possible ways, from obvious to hidden, to find bookmarks not only in standard browsers, but also when they βdisappearβ after updating MIUI or resetting settings.
Method 1: Bookmarks in the standard Mi Browser browser
If you're using a pre-installed browser from Xiaomi, you'll store your bookmarks right there, so you can open them.
- Launch the Mi Browser app (Blue Globe icon).
- Swipe on the three dots in the lower right corner (or swipe to the right of the main page).
- Select the Bookmarks section (or Bookmarks in English).
This will show all the saved pages, broken down into folders. If you don't bookmark, check:
- π Sync with Xiaomi Cloud: Go to Settings β Xiaomi account β Mi Cloud β Synchronize and enable the browser option.
- ποΈ Recycle Bin: Remote bookmarks are stored for 30 days in the Remote section (available in the bookmarks menu).
- π Hidden folders: some system bookmarks (for example, from MIUI) They can be in the System folder β it is not visible by default.

If bookmarks are missing after the MIUI update, try clearing your browser cache: Settings β Applications β Mi Browser β Storage β Clear the cache. This often restores lost data.
Method 2: Bookmarks in Google Chrome (if installed)
Chrome stores bookmarks differently than Mi Browser, and they're tied to a Google account, so they may not be displayed immediately.
- Open Chrome and tap the three dots in the top right corner.
- Select Bookmarks (Bookmarks).
- If the list is empty, check if you are logged in to your Google account (profile icon in the top right corner).
Features of Chrome on Xiaomi Redmi:
- π Cloud sync: bookmarks are automatically saved to Google Account and available on all devices. To see them, enable sync in Chrome settings.
- π Import/Export: If your bookmarks are missing, try importing them from the HTML-File (Settings section) β Bookmarks β Import of bookmarks).
- π± Mobile and desktop: Redmi bookmarks can be displayed in a simplified way. To see the full list, request the desktop version of the site from the Chrome menu.
β οΈ Note: If you delete your Chrome bookmarks on one device, they will disappear on Redmi after sync.
Method 3: MIUI System Bookmarks (Hidden Folders)
Xiaomi Redmi has system bookmarks that don't appear in browsers, stored in /data/data/com.android.browser or /data/data/com.miui.browser folders, but not accessed by root-enabled users.
- Use a root-access file manager (such as Root Explorer or FX File Explorer).
- Go to /data/data/com.miui.browser/global/bookmarks.db β here is the SQLite bookmark database.
- Copy the file to your computer and open it through DB Browser for SQLite.
If root rights are not available, try an alternative method:
- π² Backup: Create a backup through Settings β The phone. β Backup and find the browser folder in the archive.
- π§ ADB-Commands: Connect Redmi to your PC and execute: Adb pull /data/data/com.miui.browser/global/bookmarks.db (Developer Mode and Debugging Required USB).
- π Xiaomi Cloud: Some system bookmarks are duplicated in Mi Cloud. check the Browser section in the web version of the cloud.
β οΈ Note: Modifying files in /data If you are not sure about your actions, use official recovery methods (see the section on Xiaomi Cloud).

Method 4: Recovery Bookmarks through Xiaomi Cloud
If you are logged in to a Xiaomi account, your bookmarks could be saved automatically to the cloud to be returned:
- Open your Settings β Xiaomi Account β Mi Cloud.
- Make sure that the browser sync is enabled.
- If the bookmarks are not displayed, click Sync now.
If the data is lost after the phone is reset:
- Visit i.mi.com from your PC.
- Log in and go to the Cloud β Browser section.
- Export bookmarks to an HTML file and import them back to your browser on Redmi.
| Type of bookmark | Where they're stored | How to repair |
|---|---|---|
| Mi Browser bookmarks | Locally at /data/data/com.miui.browser | Synchronization with Mi Cloud or manual export |
| Chrome bookmarks | Google Cloud | Log in to the account and enable synchronization |
| MIUI system bookmarks | /data/data/com.android.browser | Only with root access or through ADB |
| Remote bookmarks | Browser basket (30 days) | Recovery in the Remote Menu |
What to do if the bookmarks are missing after the MIUI update?
MIUI updates often reset browser settings, if after the update the bookmarks disappeared:
Check the basket in the browser|Enable synchronization with Mi Cloud/Google|Reinstall the browser (without data cleaning)|Try to roll back the update. MIUI (if available)-->
If nothing helps, use the backup:
- Connect Redmi to your PC and use the Mi PC Suite to recover the backup.
- If there is no backup, try to find the bookmarks.db file in the MIUI/backup folder on internal memory.
On Redmi Note 11 and later, bookmarks can be stored in encrypted form. To restore them, you will need the original locksettings.db file from the same backup.
How to transfer bookmarks from Redmi to another phone?
If you are changing your smartphone and want to save bookmarks, there are several ways:
- π Google Sync: The easiest method: Log in to Chrome on a new phone - bookmarks will be automatically downloaded.
- π€ Exports to HTML: In Mi Browser or Chrome, open the bookmark menu. Select Export (in Chrome, this is done through Settings). β Bookmarks β Copy the file you receive onto a new phone and import it.
