How to view the history of the browser on the Xiaomi phone: all ways for MIUI

Why Xiaomi’s browser history may be hidden or unavailable

Xiaomi’s MIUI-based smartphones offer users several built-in browsers: the standard Mi Browser, Google Chrome (if installed), and alternatives like Firefox or Opera. However, finding a visit history is not always easy — especially if you use incognito, guest profile or synchronization with your Mi Account. In some cases, history can be automatically cleared through privacy settings, and MIUI 14+ adds a smart cleanup feature that deletes browser data at low battery levels.

Another common problem is sharing your history between different browsers, for example, if you opened a site in Mi Browser, it won't be in Chrome history, and vice versa. It's also worth considering that once you reset your phone to factory settings or flash it over, your browser history is deleted without recovery (unless you've been able to sync with the cloud).

Method 1: View History in the Standard Mi Browser

The Mi Browser is installed by default on all Xiaomi smartphones (except models for the European market, where Google Chrome can be used instead).

1. Launch the Browser app (Blue Globe icon).
2. Touch the badge. ⋮ (three points) in lower right corner.
3. Select History (or Journal in older versions of MIUI).

In the list that opens, you'll see all the sites you've visited, grouped by date.

Method 2: A story on Google Chrome on Xiaomi

If you use Google Chrome, the history browsing algorithm is a little different, and the main advantage of this browser is cross-platform synchronization: if you logged in to the same Google account on your phone and computer, the story will be shared.

1. Launch Chrome and tap the icon ⋮ (three points) in upper right corner.
2. Choose History.
3. Click History again in the drop-down menu (or you will immediately see a list of visited pages).

In Chrome, the story is divided into two tabs:

• 👤 Activity in other devices – if sync is enabled, it will show sites open on a PC or tablet.

Method 3: How to find a story in incognito mode

Many users mistakenly believe that the story in incognito mode (Private mode in Mi Browser or Incognito in Chrome) is completely hidden.
