For most users, the first option (portable storage) is optimal; the second one is only suitable if you have 16/32 GB of internal memory and are willing to sacrifice flexibility for space. Once you choose internal memory, the card cannot be used on other devices without full formatting.

- 📁 For photo/video: Open the gallery → Select the files → More. → Move it → Memory map.
- 🎵 For music: Use a file manager (such as Mi File Explorer) and move folders manually.
- 📱 For applications, they're installed in internal memory by default, and to change that, you need root rights or special utilities like this. App2SD (It doesn't work on all firmware).
For internal memory, the process is automated: new applications will be installed on the card if there is not enough space in the internal memory, but some system applications (such as Google Play Services) will still remain in internal memory.
⚠️ Note: Not all apps support memory card work, for example, WhatsApp and Telegram may refuse to save media files to an external drive due to security restrictions.
