Voice on Xiaomi TVs is a useful feature for users with disabilities or those who prefer to control TV voice. However, for most Mi TV, Redmi TV or Xiaomi Smart TV owners, constant sound prompts ("Switch off the TV", "Strong up the volume") become an annoying background, especially at night or while watching movies. You will learn how to remove voice notifications completely or turn off only individual sounds (for example, when switching channels), and what to do if the settings are reset after the MIUI TV update. 6 Why the voice is turned on itself: causes and solutions
Many users complain that after updating the firmware or restarting the TV, voice prompts return, due to the features of MIUI TV and Xiaomi's policy of resetting some settings to default.
Reasons for spontaneous inclusion:
| Reason. | The models on which it is found | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Firmware update | All models on MIUI TV 3.0+ | Disable auto updates or use ADB to fix settings |
| Reset to factory settings | Mi TV 4S, Redmi TV A55 | Restore settings from backup |
| Error in the service com.xiaomi.mitv.tts | Mi TV Q1, Xiaomi TV A Pro | Disable the service via ADB (Section 5) |
| Application conflict (e.g. Google Assistant) | Google TV models (e.g. Mi TV P1) | Remove or disable conflicting applications |
How to prevent re-enactment:
- π Turn off auto firmware updates: Settings β On TV. β Updating the system β Auto-update β Off.
- π± If you are using Mi Home, check if there are any automatic scripts that include voice-activated voice.
- π§ For models with Google Assistant, disable its integration: Settings β Voice assistant β Google Assistant β Shut down.
Critical information: Xiaomi TVs with MIUI TV 4.0+ firmware can reset voice settings after upgrading to a new version of the system even if auto updates are disabled. The only reliable way to avoid this is to fix settings through ADB (section 5).
7. Alternative methods: if nothing helps
In rare cases, voice can be embedded in firmware at the core level (e.g., some Redmi TVs for the Chinese market), then standard methods will not work. Consider radical but effective solutions.

For the Mi TV 4S and Mi TV 4X models, there are informal firmware (for example, LineageOS for TV), which removes all unnecessary services, including voice prompts.
- β οΈ The risk of "bricking" TV.
- β οΈ Loss of guarantee.
- β οΈ There may be problems with Netflix and Disney+ (DRM).

If the TV is used only for displaying images (for example, as a monitor for PC), you can turn off the built-in speakers via the menu:
- Go to Settings β Sound and Image β Dynamics.
- Choose External speakers or HDMI ARC.
- Connect the sound system or headphones via HDMI ARC or 3.5mm.
Method 3: Using an external remote
Some universal remotes (such as Xiaomi Mi Remote or Logitech Harmony) allow you to turn off system sounds through special commands.

Before installing custom firmware, check its compatibility with your model on the 4PDA or XDA Developers forums. Wrong firmware can bring the TV down.
