It’s important to understand that most budget lamp models work exclusively in the 2.4GHz frequency range, so your router should support this standard and broadcast the network.

The first step is to prepare the software correctly. Xiaomi uses multiple platforms to manage devices, and the choice of a specific program depends on the model of your lamp. For most modern devices, such as the Xiaomi Smart LED Bulb Essential, the best choice will be the Mi Home application, which is the central hub for the entire ecosystem.

If you purchased a device under the Yeelight brand, which is formally a sub-brand, then for advanced functionality, including music and complex effects, it is better to download a separate Yeelight app, which allows you to access more subtle color reproduction settings and integration with gaming streaming services.
