Locked numbers on Xiaomi smartphones often cause confusion: users forget who exactly was added to the blacklist, or can not find this section in the settings after the MIUI update. Unlike other manufacturers, where the list of blocked contacts is easy to find in the call menu, Xiaomi this functionality is hidden deeper β and its location changed depending on the firmware version.
In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to view locked numbers on Redmi devices, POCO and Xiaomi, including models 2023β2026 We will also tell you how to restore access to contacts if they are lost after resetting settings or updating. MIUI 14/15, which are not written in official documentation.
Official way: through phone settings
The most reliable method is to use the built-in MIUI menu, but the path to it varies depending on the firmware version. Since MIUI 12, developers have moved the lock section to the Privacy submenu, which has caused a lot of questions among users.
Instructions for MIUI 14/15 (relevant to Xiaomi 13/14, Redmi Note 12/13, POCO F5/X5):
- π± Open the Settings app (cog icon).
- π Scroll down and select the Apps. β Application management.
- π In the top search bar, type in Phone and select the Phone system app (not to be confused with Google Phone if it is installed!).
- π Go to Permits. β Number locking.
In this section, you will see a full list of blocked numbers, and you can add new ones or delete old ones. Please note that if you have Google Phone installed as the default app, the path will be different (more on this in the next section).
Alternative path: through the application "Phone"
If you use the standard Xiaomi Phone app (not Google Phone), you can find the list of locked numbers directly in the call interface, which works on all versions of MIUI, but requires the following instructions:
- Open the phone application (pipe icon).
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner (menu).
- Select Settings β Lock numbers.
- Enter. PIN-Screen lock code or password (if requested).
This will show you a list of all blocked contacts with the date of addition, and it is important that if you do not see this item on the menu, then you have Google Phone installed on your device, in which case use the method from the next section.
π‘
If unknown contacts are displayed in the blocked number list, check your call history for spam calls. Often viruses or scammers are blocked automatically by the MIUI system without your knowledge.
How to find locked numbers if you have Google Phone installed
Many Xiaomi users are installing Google Phone as an alternative calling app because of its more user-friendly interface, in which case the standard path through MIUI settings wonβt work β use Googleβs menu:
- π Open the Phone app (from Google).
- π€ Click on your avatar in the upper right corner.
- π§ Select Settings β Blocked numbers.
- π Here you will see all the blocked contacts, including those that were added through the MIUI earlier.
Note: Google Phone does not sync locks with Xiaomi's system settings. If you locked a number through a standard app and then switched to Google Phone, the list may not show up.
β οΈ Note: If you delete Google Phone and return to the standard Phone app from Xiaomi, all locks made through Google will reset. We recommend exporting the list of blocked numbers before switching.
Hidden Functions: How to Recover Remote Locks
Sometimes, after resetting or updating MIUI, the list of blocked numbers disappears, but Xiaomi stores backup copies of this information in system files to recover the data:
- Connect the device to your computer and enable Debugging over USB (Settings β About Phone β MIUI Version β 7 times press to activate the developer mode).
- Use it. ADB-Exporting the Block List: Adb shell content query --uri content://com.android.contacts.blocked
- If the command didnβt work, try an alternative route: adb shell content query --uri content://com.miui.contacts.blocked
This technique requires technical skills and does not work on all devices, so if the commands return an error, the data has been deleted irrevocably, in which case you only have to manually restore the list from the call history or SMS.
What if the ADB does not recognize the device?
Table: Where to look for locks on different versions of MIUI
| MIUI version | The path to blocked numbers | Features |
|---|---|---|
| MIUI 15 (2026) | Settings β Applications β Application Management β Phone β Permissions β Number Locking | Requires input PIN-lock-screen |
| MIUI 12β14 | Settings β Privacy β Blocking numbers | On some devices, the path may be different. |
| MIUI 11 and older | Phone β Menu (three dots) β Settings β Locking numbers | No extra protection. |
| Google Phone | Phone β Avatar β Settings β Blocked numbers | Not synchronized with MIUI |
If your version of MIUI is not listed in the table, try using a universal method: search by settings (Settings β Search) for "lock numbers." The system should show a direct path to the desired section.
What to do if the number is blocked but does not appear in the list
Sometimes users are faced with a situation where calls from a certain number do not pass, but it is not on the blocking list.
- π΅ The number is blocked by the operator (check in the personal account of MTS, Beeline or MegaFon).
- π‘οΈ Do Not Disturb for Unknown Numbers (Settings) β Sound and vibration β Don't disturb).
- π€ Blocking is done by a third-party application (for example, Truecaller or GetContact).
- π Number added to blacklist on SIM-map (check through the USSD-team *110*782# for MTS).
To diagnose the problem:
- Ask a blocked caller to call you from another number, and if the call passes, the problem is blocking a particular contact.
- Check the call log for missed calls with the "Blocked" tag.
- Disable all third-party spam blocking apps for 5 minutes and ask the subscriber to call back.
β οΈ Attention: On devices with MIUI 14+ double SIM-The lock card can be used separately for each SIM. Check the settings for both cards in the Settings section. β SIM-maps and mobile networks β Locking down calls.
