You want to watch movies, photos or games with your iPhone on a big Xiaomi TV screen, but don't know how to do it wirelessly? Wi-Fi is the most convenient way, but not always the obvious. Depending on the TV model and iOS version, different methods are available, from standard AirPlay to hidden MIUI TV features.
In this article, we’ll look at 5 proven ways to bring your iPhone to Xiaomi TV via Wi-Fi, from official solutions to workarounds for older models, which settings to enable on both devices, which apps will help if standard methods don’t work, and how to avoid common bugs (such as audio delays when streaming via Miracast on Xiaomi TV 4S/4A).

1. Method: AirPlay on Xiaomi TV (official support)
The easiest method is to use the built-in AirPlay if your Xiaomi TV supports it. The feature is available on models in 2020 and later (Q1, Q2, P1, S Pro series) with MIUI TV firmware at least 1.6.0.
To turn on AirPlay:
- 📺 On the Xiaomi remote TV press Settings. → Devices → Apple AirPlay and activate the switch.
- 🔒 From AirPlay Security, select For All (if you are streaming on your home network) or Contact Only.
- 📱 On iPhone, swipe down for Control Point, tap Screen Duplicate and select your Xiaomi TV list.
⚠️ Note: If AirPlay does not appear in Xiaomi settings TV, Update the firmware through Settings → On TV. → System updates: On 2018-2019 models (e.g. Mi) TV 4S 55′′ AirPlay may not be available even after the update – use alternative methods.
Method: Miracast (Screen Mirroring) for older models
If your Xiaomi TV doesn’t support AirPlay, try Miracast, a universal wireless broadcast protocol that works on most Xiaomi models (except the most budget ones like the Mi TV 4A 32), but requires an iPhone with iOS 13+ and a third-party app.
Instructions:
- Install Screen Mirroring for Miracast (or analogues: ApowerMirror, LetsView) on your iPhone.
- On your TV, turn on Miracast: Settings → Connections → Wireless display (on some models, the path: Settings → Network → Miracast).
- Launch the app on your iPhone, select your Xiaomi TV from the list and confirm your connection.
Connect your iPhone and Xiaomi TV to the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)

How to connect with ApowerMirror:

If live streaming doesn't work, upload content to the cloud and open it on your TV.
