Owners of Xiaomi Redmi smartphones often face the need to know the version of the Bluetooth module - whether it is to check compatibility with wireless headphones, fitness bracelets or car system. However, the manufacturer does not always specify this information in standard settings. Depending on the model (Redmi Note 12 Pro+, Redmi 10C, POCO X5, etc.) and the version of MIUI, the methods of verification may vary.
In this article, we will discuss 5 working methods, including hidden engineering menus, third-party applications and technical specification analysis, and focus on the nuances for Qualcomm Snapdragon and MediaTek Helio devices, as they have different Bluetooth chipsets, and learn why an outdated version of the module is sometimes displayed and how to fix it.
1. Verification through standard Android settings
The easiest way is to use the built-in MIUI tools. However, it doesnβt work on all Xiaomi Redmi models, especially on budget devices (like the Redmi A1+ or Redmi 9A).
Instructions:
- π± Open the Settings. β The phone.
- π Scroll down to the version section. MIUI Tap it 7 times (activates the developer mode).
- π Return to the main settings menu and select Additional β Special facilities β Bluetooth version.
If there is no Bluetooth version, your firmware does not support this method, so move on to the next method.
β οΈ Attention: On some firmware (MIUI 14+) When the developer mode is activated, a warning about an βuncertified deviceβ may appear, which is not critical, but may block access to certain features (e.g. Google Pay).
2.Use of engineering menu (MTK and Snapdragon)
For advanced users, there is a method through the engineering menu, which is suitable for devices on the chipsets MediaTek (Redmi 10, Redmi 9T) and Qualcomm (Redmi Note 11 Pro, POCO F4), but requires caution β the wrong actions can disrupt the module.
For MediaTek:
- Open the Phone app.
- Enter the combination: ##4636###.
- Go to the tab Information about the phone.
- Scroll to the Bluetooth block β there will be a version (for example, the version, bt_version: 5.2).
For Qualcomm Snapdragon:
- π§ Enter the phone app: ##2254##.
- π In the menu that opens, find a line. BT Chip Version.
β οΈ Attention: On some firmware (MIUI Global Stable: The engineering menu may be blocked, in which case use third-party apps (Section 3).
What to do if the engineering menu is not opened?
3. Third-party diagnostic applications
If the standard methods didn't work, Google Play apps will come to the rescue, and we tested 5 popular utilities and selected the most accurate ones:
| Annex | precision | Xiaomi support | Additional functions |
|---|---|---|---|
| AIDA64 | βββββ | Yeah (all models) | Performance tests, sensors |
| CPU-Z | ββββ | Yeah (except Redmi Go) | Information about the processor, battery |
| DevCheck | βββββ | Yes. | Network monitoring, GPS |
| Bluetooth Scanner | βββ | Partially. | Scanner of nearby devices |
AIDA64 or DevCheck are recommended β they show not only a Bluetooth version, but also a chipset model (for example, Qualcomm WCN6750 for the Redmi K50).
Instructions for AIDA64:
- π² Install the app from Google Play.
- π Go to the System tab. β Bluetooth.
- π In the module information block, the version will be specified (e.g. Bluetooth 5.3). + LE).
π‘
If the app shows Bluetooth 4.0, but youβre sure your model should have 5.0+, Try updating the firmware through Settings β Software Update: Sometimes the manufacturer limits the functionality in older versions MIUI.
Verification by smartphone model (database)
If the software methods didn't work, you can find out the Bluetooth version by the specifications of a particular model.
- Find the full name of your device in Settings β About Phone β Model (e.g., M2101K7AG for Redmi Note 10 Pro).
- Go to the official Xiaomi website or GSMArena database.
- Type the model into a search and find the Comms β Bluetooth section.
Example for popular models:
- π± Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G β Bluetooth 5.3 (MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset).
- π± Redmi 10 2022 β Bluetooth 5.0 (MediaTek Helio chipset) G88).
- π± POCO X5 Pro β Bluetooth 5.2 chipset Snapdragon 778G).
β οΈ Attention: GSMArena sometimes lists a theoretical version of the module rather than the one that actually works in the firmware. 9C It supports Bluetooth 5.0, but in MIUI 12 may be displayed as 4.2.

5. Analysis of system logs (for advanced)
This method is suitable for those who are ready to work with ADB (Android Debug Bridge), it gives 100% accurate results, but requires a connection to a PC.
Instructions:
- Install. ADB-computer-driver.
- Activate USB Debugging in Settings β For Developers.
- Connect your smartphone to your PC and type in the command line: adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager
- Find the getAdapterVersion bar, and it will show the version (e.g., 8 (BLE) corresponds to Bluetooth 5.0).
Important: If the logs show a version lower than the manufacturer claimed (for example, 4.2 instead of 5.0), this may mean that the firmware uses an outdated Bluetooth stack. MIUI via Fastboot.
6. Frequent problems and solutions
Xiaomi Redmi users often encounter a mismatch between the Bluetooth version in settings and the real capabilities of the module.
- π Problem: The app shows Bluetooth 5.0, but the headphones only work in mode SBC (no support for aptX or LDAC). Solution: Update firmware or install custom recovery (for example, TWRP) modified-stacked Bluetooth.
- π΅ Problem: In the engineering menu, the version is displayed as UNKNOWN. Solution: Reset network settings (Settings) β Connections β Resetting network settings).
- β‘ Problem: After the update MIUI Bluetooth support is missing LE Audio (e.g. on Redmi) K40). Solution: Reverse to the previous firmware version via Fastboot.
If none of the methods helped, contact the service center Xiaomi β possible hardware failure module (especially after falls or moisture).
π‘
On devices with MediaTek chipsets (e.g. Redmi 10A), the Bluetooth version can be artificially understated in the firmware, in which case only flashing to custom MIUI (e.g. xiaomi.eu) will help.
