Spam calls have become a real scourge for owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones. Often users are faced with a situation where an important call falls into the category of βspamβ and is automatically blocked by the system. Or vice versa, the phone stops skipping any incoming security settings after too aggressive security settings. In this article, we will analyze all possible reasons for blocking calls and give 5 proven ways to unlock them, from basic settings to hidden MIUI functions.
The thing about MIUI is that it uses built-in fraud protection algorithms, and sometimes these algorithms work too hard to block even legitimate numbers. For example, after upgrading to MIUI 14/15, many users complained about missing notifications of missed calls from banks or delivery services. We tested all methods on current models (Xiaomi 13/14, Redmi Note 12, POCO F5) and selected only those that work in 2026.
Why Xiaomi is blocking incoming calls
Before you unlock calls, it is important to understand why they are blocked. MIUI has several mechanisms that can prevent incoming calls:
- π Built-in spam filter β automatically detects suspicious numbers from the database of Xiaomi and the operator.
- π΅ Blacklist β numbers added by you manually or by third-party apps (e.g. Truecaller).
- π‘οΈ Do Not Disturb β can block all calls except selected contacts.
- π± Synchronization errors β after updating or resetting the settings, permissions for the Phone application are sometimes lost".
- π Operator services β some mobile operators (MTS, Beeline, Tele2) offer their anti-spam services that conflict with the Internet. MIUI.
Important: If you miss miss misstated calls, but the calls go away, the problem lies in the notification settings of the Phone app, not in locking. In this case, go to Settings β Applications β Application Management β Phone β Notifications and turn on the option βMissed callsβ.
Itβs also worth checking if you have third-party spam-blocking apps (such as Kaspersky, Avast, or Hiya) that can intercept calls before MIUI processes them.
Method 1: Checking the blacklist and spam filter
The most obvious reason for the lockdown was that the number was blacklisted or flagged as spam.
- Open the Phone app (the phone icon on the home screen).
- Slip on three dots in the upper right corner and select Call Settings.
- Go to the section "Block numbers" (or "Black list" in older versions of MIUI).
- Check the list of locked numbers. If you have the number you want, swipe it left and press Unblock.
If the blacklist is empty, check the spam filter settings:
- In the same call settings, look for Spam Filter (or Spam Protection).
- Turn off the options: π Blocking calls from spammers π Block hidden numbers π Use a cloud-based spam database
Reboot your phone to make the changes take effect.
βοΈ Checking the blacklist
If you do that, you get blocked anyway, the problem can go deeper, like system permissions or a conflict with the operator, and then we go to the next one.
Method 2: Reset the settings of the "Phone" application
Sometimes the phone application settings get lost after updating MIUI or installing third-party launchers, which can cause all incoming calls to be automatically rejected, to return factory settings:
- Go to Settings β Applications β Application Management.
- Find the phone (or com.android.dialer) and tap it.
- Select Warehouse, then click Clear Data and Clear Cache.
- Go back and press Permissions β make sure all permissions (microphone, contacts, phone) are on.
Note: Once the phone data is cleared, all your call settings, including history and favorite contacts, will be reset, and we recommend backing up your contacts first through Settings β Google β Backup.
If the reset didnβt help, try temporarily disabling battery optimization for the Phone app:
- Go to Settings β Battery and Performance β Battery Optimization.
- Find "Phone" in the list and select "No Limits".
- Reset the device.

If all contacts are missing after resetting, check sync with your Google account: Settings β Accounts β Google β Contact Sync.
Method 3: Set up the "Do Not Disturb" mode
MIUI's DND (Do Not Disturb) mode can block all calls except for selected contacts, often by accident, and users forget to turn it off.
- Open the notification bar and make sure the Do Not Disturb icon (moon or star) is not active.
- If there is an icon, tap it to turn it off.
- For detailed settings, go to Settings β Sound and vibration β Do not disturb.
- Check the rules: π Schedule β perhaps an automatic time mode is set. π± Exceptions β here you can add numbers that will be called even in the mode DND. π Notification Types β Make sure calls are not completely offline.
Pay special attention to Automatic Rules. MIUI 14+ has a Smart Mode feature that can automatically turn on DND during sleep or meetings. Turn it off if you don't use it.
β οΈ Note: some Xiaomi firmware for the European region (MIUI EU) They have a bug where Do Not Disturb is reset after the reboot, and if that's your case, upgrade to the latest version or install a global version. MIUI.
Method 4: Verification of operator services and SIM-card
If the previous methods did not work, the problem may be on the mobile operatorβs side, many Russian operators (MTS, Beeline, MegaFon, Tele2) offer their anti-spam services, which conflict with the built-in protection of Xiaomi.
- Call your operatorβs short number (e.g. *111# for MTS) and request information about active services.
- Turn off all services with names like: π‘οΈ"Protection against spam" π΅"Blacklist" π"Number-defining agent" π"Blocking fraudsters"
Restart your phone and check for incoming calls.
The problem may also be in the settings. SIM-For example, if you have two cards. SIM-The cards, the calls can only go to the main one:
- Go to Settings. β SIM-maps and mobile networks.
- Choose. SIM-card that doesn't receive calls.
- Make sure that the Incoming Calls option is enabled.
- If there is a priority SIM for calls, set the card that should accept calls by default.
| Operator. | Short number for checking services | Team to turn off anti-spam |
|---|---|---|
| MTS | *111# | *111*377# (Offline.Spam Protection) |
| Beeline | *110# | *110*789# (Off. Antispam) |
| Megaphone | *105# | *105*497# (Offline.Protection against fraudsters) |
| Tele2. | *155# | *155*1*3# (Offline.Spam Blocking) |
If you use a virtual operator (Tinkoff Mobile, SberMobile, Yota), contact support β they often have their own locking mechanisms that are not displayed in the personal account.
Method 5: Recovery of Missed Calls and Log
If calls have been blocked for a long time, you may have missed important notifications. MIUI has a hidden call log recovery feature, but it doesn't work on all models.
- Open the Phone app and go to the Call Log.
- Slip on three dots in the top corner and select Settings.
- Find Restore Journal (or Import/Export in older versions).
- If you have an option, select recovery from backup (if any).
Also check if you have a duplicate app (like Dual Apps) that can intercept notifications.
