Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is a popular smartphone with advanced call recording features, but not all users know where to look for saved conversations and how to play them. Unlike standard solutions, this model offers both built-in MIUI tools and hidden capabilities for working with audio files. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to listen to records, including recovering deleted files and bypassing carrier restrictions.
It is important to understand that recording conversations on Poco X3 Pro depends on the firmware version, regional settings and even the model SIM-For example, in some countries, auto-write is disabled by default due to legal restrictions, and we will look at not only standard methods, but also alternative solutions for cases where embedded tools do not work.
Where are the Poco X3 Pro conversation records stored?
Default All Call Records on Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is saved in a folder /sdcard/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec/. However, the path may change depending on the version. MIUI:

- 📁 MIUI 12 older: /sdcard/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec/

The files are.amr or.mp3 and are named by pattern: call_[date [time] [number].amr: call_20260515_143022_+79123456789.amr. If the folder is empty, check the recording settings or try alternative search methods.
For quick access to the folder:
- Open the File Manager application.
- Go to the Category section → Audio.
- Select the Record tab - all saved calls will be displayed here.
⚠️ Note: If you are using duality SIM-maps, records can be saved in different folders for each line: /call_rec/sim1/ and /call_rec/sim2/.
How to turn on auto-recording of all calls
On the Poco X3 Pro, auto-recording is disabled by default to activate it:
- Open the phone application (Dialer).
- Press three points (⋮) top-right → Settings.
- Select the Call Recording (Call Recording).
- Activate the Auto Record switch.
- Please indicate which numbers to apply the rule for: 📞 All numbers - a record of all incoming/outgoing 🔢 Only select people – add contacts to the list 🚫 All except... - exclude certain numbers
After activation next to the call timer, a recording icon will appear (🎤). Please note: some operators (for example, MTS or Beeline) may block the record on their side - in this case, the file will be empty or corrupted.

Listening to recordings through a standard application
The easiest way to reproduce the recording:
- Open the Phone app.
- Go to the Call Log.
- Find the right contact or number → press it.
- If the record exists, a Replay button will appear (▶️) near-timer.
Alternative path: Settings → Applications → Phone → Storage → Files. All records sorted by date will be displayed here. For convenience, you can add a CallRecord folder shortcut to the home screen:
- Open the files → find the folder with records.
- Press your finger on the folder → Add to the main screen.
⚠️ Attention: If you're listening to your voice while playing, and you can't hear the other person, the problem is with the microphone settings. → Additionally. → Recording from both microphones (available on the MIUI 13+).

To quickly find a record by number, use the search in the Files app: enter a part of the number (for example, +7912) in the search bar - the system will show all associated audio files.
Recovering Deleted Records of Conversations
If the record was deleted accidentally, it can be restored within 30 days (provided that the disk space was not overwritten).
- 🔍 Method 1: Use the built-in basket MIUI: Open the files. → Recycle bin. Find the deleted file by date or name. Select it. → Restore.
- 🛠️ Method 2: Third-party utilities (e.g. DiskDigger or Recuva): Connect your phone to your PC in File Transfer mode (MTP). Run the program and scan the internal memory. Filtrate the results on the.amr extension or.mp3.
- ☁️ Method 3: If backup is enabled in Google Drive or Mi Cloud, check the archive: Go to Settings → Accounts. → Mi Cloud → Backup. Select the date of the copy made before deleting the record. Restore only the folder. /Recordings/.
Critical information: On the Poco X3 Pro with MIUI 14+, the built-in Recycle Bin only stores deleted files for 7 days (instead of 30 in previous versions). To extend the time, change the settings in Settings → Storage → Recycle Bin → Shelf life.

If records are not saved or reproduced with distortion, check the following points:
- 🔊 No audio from the interlocutor: Enable Settings → Additionally. → Check to see if the top microphone is covered with a cover.
- 📵 Recording breaks: Disable battery optimization for the app Phone: Settings → Battery → Optimizing the battery → All applications → Phone. → No restrictions. Check the free disk space (requires a minimum of 500 MB).
- 🚫 No recording function: Update the firmware to the latest version MIUI. Install Magisk CallRecorderPatcher (root required).
