How to view blocked calls on Xiaomi: all ways for MIUI

You missed an important call, but it's not in the call log? It may have been blocked by the system or you've been previously. Xiaomi's MIUI-based smartphones automatically hide calls from blocked contacts, but you can find them if you know where to look. In this article, we'll look at all the ways to view blocked calls on Redmi, POCO and Xiaomi devices, including models with MIUI 12-14 and Android 10-14.

The problem is that the standard call log (Phone โ†’ Log) doesnโ€™t display missed calls from locked numbers, but you have to search for them in separate parts of the system โ€” or use workarounds. We tested all methods on the Xiaomi 13 Pro, Redmi Note 12 and POCO X5, so the instructions are relevant for most of the modern devices of the brand.

If you're not sure if you've manually blocked the number or if the MIUI's built-in spam filter did, check the blacklist first, and then we'll tell you how to do it quickly -- and what to do if the number you want isn't there.

1. Check the blacklist in the phone settings

The most obvious way is to look at which numbers are locked in the system. MIUI has two types of locks: manual (you added the number manually) and automatic (the system recognized the number as spam), both of which appear in the same list.

To open the blacklist:

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Applications โ†’ Calls โ†’ Lock numbers.
  2. Tap on the Blacklist (or Locked Numbers in older versions of MIUI).
  3. Scroll down the list and you will see all the blocked contacts, including those that the system added.

If the number is not available, it means that the lock occurred at the carrier level (we will discuss this in section 4), and check the Lock Log tab - there may be records of the last blocked calls, even if the number is not added to the blacklist constantly.

๐Ÿ’ก

If there are many numbers in the blacklist, use the search (the magnifier icon in the upper right corner). Enter the first digits of the number or the contact name, if it is saved.

2. View the history of blocked calls through the log

MIUI has a hidden feature that allows you to see all missed calls, including those that have been blocked, but access to it depends on the firmware version. On new devices (MIUI 14+), the path has changed, so here are the current instructions.

For MIUI 14 and newer:

  1. Open the phone application (pipe icon).
  2. Go to the Journal tab (bottom of the screen).
  3. Put three points on it (โ‹ฎ) in the upper right corner and select Settings.
  4. Scroll down to the Additional section and click Show Blocked Calls.

For MIUI 12-13:

  • โœ… Open the phone. โ†’ Journal โ†’ Filter (funnel icon).
  • โœ… Select Blocked in the list of call types.
  • โœ… This will show all missed calls from blocked numbers in the last 30 days.

If you don't have a "Show blocked calls" option, your version of MIUI doesn't support this feature, so move on to the next one.

3.Using Xiaomi's built-in spam filter

MIUI has a built-in spam protection system called Security (or Security in Russian firmware), which automatically blocks suspicious numbers, but does not always notify the user, to see the list of blocked calls:

  1. Open the Security app (shield icon).
  2. Go to Call Blocking or Spam Protection.
  3. Slip on the Lock Log โ€“ there will be all automatically blocked calls for the last month.

Note that if you previously disabled Spam Protection in your settings, this log may be blank to include it back:

Settings โ†’ Applications โ†’ Challenges โ†’ Protection against spam โ†’ Enable

You can also set the filtering level in this section:

  • ๐Ÿ”น Strict โ€“ blocks all suspicious numbers (can catch false positives).
  • ๐Ÿ”น Balanced โ€“ only blocks obvious spam.
  • ๐Ÿ”น Disconnected - filtration is not working.

What to do if the lock log is empty?
If there are no log records but you are sure that the call was made, check: 1. Have your phone settings been reset (the log is cleared when reset). 2. Is there a third-party application for blocking calls (for example, Truecaller) installed - it can intercept locks. 3. Is the Do Not Disturb function activated at the time of the call (in this case, the call is not recorded in the log).

4. Check of locking at the level of the operator

If the number is not found in the blacklist of the phone or in the lock log, it may be blocked by your mobile operator. MTS, Beeline, MegaFon and Tele2 have their own spam filtering systems that work regardless of the smartphone settings.

To check the locking with the operator:

  • ๐Ÿ“ž Dial it. USSD-Team for your operator: MTS: *111*081# (Blacklist viewing. Beeline: *110*789# (lock control. MegaFon: *130# โ†’"Blocked numbers. Television.2: *220*1# โ†’"Blacklist".
  • ๐ŸŒ Go to the personal account on the operator's website (section "Security" or "Services").
  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ Use the official application of the operator (for example, "My MTS", "MegaFon. Personal account").

If the number is blocked by the operator, it can be unlocked only through the same channels. Please note: some operators charge for the service "Blacklist" (for example, MegaFon charges ~ 3 rubles / day).

๐Ÿ’ก

Operator-level locking takes precedence over phone settings. if you remove a number from Xiaomiโ€™s blacklist, it will still be blocked if it is locked from the carrier.

5. Use of third-party tracking applications

If the built-in MIUI tools don't show blocked calls, you can use third-party apps, which not only display the blocking history, but also provide advanced statistics.

To set up tracking of blocked calls in Truecaller:

  1. Install the application and complete the registration.
  2. Go to Settings โ†’ Block โ†’ Lock Log.
  3. Turn on the option to show notifications about blocked calls.

Important: Third-party applications require permission to access the call log and SMS. Check reviews before installing - some programs may collect personal data.

6.Restore call history through backup

If you have previously backed up your files via Mi Cloud or locally, you can try to restore the call log from them, which will help if the lock is recent and the copy has an old history.

To recover the data:

  1. Open Settings โ†’ About Phone โ†’ Backup and Reset.
  2. Select Recover Data and specify the source (Mi Cloud or local file).
  3. Check the Call Log and confirm the recovery.

Please note that:

  • โš ๏ธ Recovery rewrites the current call log with data from a copy.
  • โš ๏ธ If the copy is old, it may not contain the latest calls.
  • ๐Ÿ”„ After recovery, restart the phone.

If you don't have backups, try using specialized data recovery software like Dr.Fone or EaseUS MobiSaver, which can extract call history even without a backup, but require root access or a PC connection.

1. Check if there are backups in the Mi Cloud

2.Make sure the phone has enough charge (minimum 50%)

3. Connect to Wi-Fi (recovery from the cloud consumes a lot of traffic)

4. remember or save current important numbers (they may be overwritten)-->

7 What should I do if nothing helps?

If none of these things worked, maybe there's a deeper problem.

  • ๐Ÿ”ง Resetting your phone settings: go to Settings โ†’ The phone. โ†’ Resetting settings โ†’ Reset all settings. This will not delete data, but will reset call settings (including locks).
  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ Update MIUI: Sometimes, lock display bugs are fixed in new firmware versions. Check the updates in Settings โ†’ The phone. โ†’ Updating the system.
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Xiaomi Support: If the problem is systemic (for example, after an update), email the official support chat via the Mi Community app.

If you suspect that the call is blocked not by your phone, but by the subscriberโ€™s device (for example, he added you to a blacklist), you can not verify this yourself, in which case you can try to contact the contact via messengers (WhatsApp, Telegram) or social networks.

โš ๏ธ Warning: some viruses and malicious applications can block calls without your knowledge. SMS), Check your phone with an antivirus (such as Malwarebytes or a built-in scanner).

FAQ: Frequent questions about blocked calls on Xiaomi

Can I see blocked calls if my phone has been dropped?
No, when you reset your call log and blacklist are completely cleared. If you had a backup in Mi Cloud, try to recover data from it (see Section 6).
Why do some blocked numbers still ring?
This can happen for several reasons: the number is locked only in the phone, not the operator (and vice versa); Do not disturb with exceptions for some contacts; malfunction MIUI (Reboot or reset call settings. Check the settings in Security. โ†’ Block calls and make sure the function is active.
How to block a number so that it does not appear in the journal?
Not only is the number blocked, but it doesnโ€™t leave any traces in the log: Add it to the blacklist (Settings โ†’ Applications โ†’ Calls โ†’ Lock numbers). Turn off notifications about blocked calls to Security โ†’ Settings โ†’ Notifications. Use third-party apps (like Call Blocker) with a โ€œquiet lockโ€ feature.
Can I restore a deleted blacklist?
If the blacklist has been manually cleared, it can only be restored from a Mi Cloud backup or local backup. Without a copy, this is impossible - MIUI does not keep logs of changes to locks. In the future, regularly export the list of blocked numbers (for example, through Call Blocker).
Why did the blocked numbers disappear after the MIUI update?
When major updates (e.g., MIUI 13 to MIUI 14) sometimes reset the Phone app settings. Check if the blacklist (Settings โ†’ Applications โ†’ Calls โ†’ Block numbers) has been reset, if the Spam Protection feature has been disabled, if the path to the lock log has changed (see Section 2). If the numbers are missing, they will have to be added to the blacklist again.
