Have you accidentally blocked an important number on the Xiaomi Redmi Note and now you can’t find how to unlock it? or just want to check which contacts are blacklisted? In this article, we’ll look at all the possible ways to view locked numbers, from standard MIUI features to hidden system features and third-party apps.
Xiaomi regularly updates its shell interface, so the settings may vary depending on the version of MIUI (12, 13, 14 or HyperOS).We took these nuances into account and prepared universal instructions that will suit most models of the Redmi Note series – from Redmi Note 8 Pro to Redmi Note 13 Pro+.
If you’ve tried to find locked numbers through a Settings search and haven’t found the right section, don’t rush to install third-party apps. 80% of the time, the problem is solved through hidden MIUI menus that few people know about. Next, you’ll learn how to access a full list of blocked contacts, including those that were added automatically by the system (for example, spam numbers).
1. Standard method: through phone settings
The most obvious method is to use the built-in MIUI tools, which works on all Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphones regardless of the firmware version, but the path to the menu may vary slightly.
Open the Phone app (tube icon) and click on the three dots in the top right corner. In the drop-down menu, select Settings, then go to Lock Numbers. Here you will see a full list of blocked contacts, including:
- 📱 Numbers added manually
- 🤖 Contacts blocked by the system as spam
- 📞 Incoming from unknown numbers (if the appropriate setting is enabled)
To unlock a number, simply swipe it left or click on the cart icon. Note that in some versions of MIUI, this section may be called Blacklist or Blocked Contacts.

If the list does not contain the number you want, check the “Blocking Log” tab, which may display temporarily blocked calls that the system will delete after 30 days.
2. Alternative path: through security settings
In the latest versions of MIUI 14 and HyperOS, lock control has been moved to the security section, which is especially useful if you don’t have the “Lock Numbers” option displayed in the Phone app.
Go to Settings → Applications → Application Management. In the search box, type "phone" and select the standard Phone app. Next, click Permissions and scroll down to Other Permits. Here you will find the Block Numbers item — click on it to see the full list.
⚠️ Note: Some Redmi Note models (e.g. Redmi Note 11 with a MIUI 13) this path may not work, in which case try updating the firmware or using the following method.
If you use Xiaomi Redmi Note with two SIM-You can lock numbers on a particular SIM, check the settings for each card separately, sometimes the number is locked on only one of them.
3. browse through Google Contacts (if synchronization is used)
Many users are unaware that locked numbers can sync with your Google account, especially if you’ve used other Android phones and moved contacts before.
To check the list through Google Contacts:
- Open your browser and go to contacts.google.com
- Sign in with the same account as on your phone.
- In the left menu, select More → Settings → Blocked numbers
This will show all the numbers locked on any device with this Google account. note that unlocking through the web interface can take up to 24 hours to sync with the phone.

The Security (Shield Icon) app in MIUI includes advanced privacy settings, including lock management, which works even on older Redmi Note 7/8 models.
Open the Security app and go to Lock or Antispam, depending on the firmware version, the path may look like this:

- 📵 Security → Antispam → Blacklist
- 🔒 Security → Confidentiality → Locking down calls
Important: In some regional versions of MIUI, the Security section may be called "Security" or "Safe Center." If you don't find this app, check the Other Apps folder or search the system.
5. Third-party applications for blocking management
If the standard methods didn’t work, you can use third-party apps.The most popular options for Xiaomi Redmi Note:

Check reviews before installing – some applications may conflict with MIUI and cause a crash in the standard phone application. Also remember that third-party programs require permission to access call logs, which can pose a privacy risk.
⚠️ Note: Apps like Truecaller collect data about your contacts and calls to build a spammer database, and if privacy is critical to you, use it with caution or refuse to sync contacts.
6. Checking through call log (hidden method)
Few people know, but MIUI has a hidden way of viewing blocked calls directly in the log, which works even if the number does not appear in the main lock settings.
Open the Phone app and go to the Log tab. Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select Settings → Show locked. If this is missing, try an alternative path:
In the call log, click on the filter icon (funnel)
Select "All Calls" → "Show Blocked"
If there is no filter, update the Phone app via Google Play
Check for MIUI updates in system settings-->
In some firmware versions, blocked calls are displayed in gray marked "Blocked" and can be unlocked directly from the log by holding your finger on the number and selecting the appropriate item in the context menu.
7.Recovering deleted records of the lock
If you accidentally cleared the list of locked numbers, it can be restored under certain conditions. MIUI stores backups of some system settings, including locks, for 7 days.
To Attempt Recovery:
- Go to Settings → About Phone → Backup and Reset
- Select Local Backups and Find the Freshest
- Click Restore and select only App Settings (do not restore all data to avoid losing relevant information)
Please note that this method will only work if:
- 🔄 An automatic backup was turned on on the phone.
- 📅 It was no more than a week since the cleanup.
- 📱 You didn't reset to factory settings.
