Basic method: connection through the settings menu
This is a standard method that works on 90% of Xiaomi devices, suitable for open and secure networks (WPA2/WPA3).
- Open Settings** (the gear icon on the home screen or in the app menu).

Note for owners of POCO F5 and Redmi K60: on these models, MIUI 14 adds Smart Connection, which automatically switches between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If the network is permanently disconnected, turn this option off in Wi-Fi Settings → Additional → Smart Connection.
Connection to QR-code: fast and error free
The method is ideal if you don’t want to enter a long password manually or connect to a network with special characters (e.g. #$, %, &). Works on all Xiaomi smartphones with MIUI 11 and newer.

Connection to a hidden network (without broadcasting SSID)
Hidden networks are not displayed in the list of available access points, as they do not broadcast their SSID. To connect to such a network on Xiaomi, you need to enter its name and password manually.
- Enter: 📡 Name of the network (SSID) — The exact name of the hidden point (register is important!). 🔒 Type of security - usually WPA2-PSK or WPA3-PSK (Check the router settings). 🔑 Password – if the network is secure.

If the connection fails, check:
- ✅ Correctness of the input SSID (Even an extra gap will lead to an error).
- ✅ Compatibility of encryption type (e.g. Xiaomi) 12T supportive WPA3-Enterprise refreshed).

Why are hidden networks less secure?
Connect via WPS (for routers with a button)
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) technology allows you to connect to the network without entering a password — just press the button on the router. The method works for all Xiaomi, but requires that the router supports WPS (most models Xiaomi Mi Router, TP-Link, ASUS support).
- On your phone, open Settings → Wi-Fi → Additional → WPS (on HyperOS, the path may differ: Network and Internet → Wi-Fi → + icon → WPS).

Enterprise Network Connection (WPA-Enterprise)
Enterprise networks (in universities, offices, hotels) often use WPA-Enterprise with login/password or certificate authentication.
- Open the Settings. → Wi-Fi and select a network with a lock 🔒 and inscribed with Enterprise.
- In the field EAP-Select the authentication type (usually PEAP or TTLS).
- Enter the data: 👤 Login identifier – your corporate email or username. 🔑 Password – issued by the network administrator. 🛡️ Domain (if required) – for example, company.com.

If you don't know the settings of your corporate network, ask your administrator for a screenshot of your settings from another device (Android/iPhone). Xiaomi may have a different interface, but the input fields are the same.
Solving Connection Problems
If your phone is not connected to Wi-Fi or the network is unstable, check the following points:
1. “Authentication” or “Save but without the Internet” error
- 🔄 Reboot your router and phone, 30 percent of the time, it solves the problem.
