Xiaomi Redmi 7A is one of the most popular budget smartphones of the brand, but even it is not immune to unlock problems. Forgot the pattern lock? Phone requires a password after reboot? Or maybe the Mi Account does not allow you to log in? In this article, we will analyze all the working methods of unlocking, from simple to radical, including bypassing Xiaomi account and resetting via Fastboot.
It's important to understand that the methods vary in complexity and consequences. For example, resetting through Recovery will delete all data, and unlocking through Mi Unlock Tool will require a wait of 72 hours. We will describe each option in detail, specify the pros and cons, and give tips on how to avoid blocking in the future. If you are not sure about yourself, you should contact a service center, especially if you have important data on your phone.
1 Unlocking through Mi Account (official method)
If you remember the username and password from your Xiaomi account, but the phone still doesn't unlock, it could be sync or temporary locking, which is suitable for cases where the screen says "This device is tied to Mi Account."
To unlock Redmi 7A through your account:
- 📱 Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or mobile internet (if locking allows you to do so).
- 🔑 On the lock screen, enter the wrong password 5 times - the button "Forgot the password" will appear?".
- 📧 Enter the email or phone number associated with Mi Account and follow the instructions to restore access.
- 🔄 After successful login, the system will offer to create a new password or pattern lock.
If the "Forgot Password?" button doesn't appear, try restarting your phone and trying again, sometimes by changing the network (e.g. switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data).
⚠️ Note: If you have previously changed your Mi Account password on another device, you may be able to use unauthorized access protection, and you may have to wait 24 to 72 hours before trying again.
2. Reset the pattern lock via Recovery Mode
If you don't remember your password or your Mi Account, you'll only have to hard reset through Recovery mode, which deletes all the data on your phone, including photos, contacts, and apps, but is guaranteed to unlock the device.
Instructions for Redmi 7A:
- Turn off the phone with a long press on the power button.
- Press Volume Up + Power at the same time and hold for 10-15 seconds until the Mi logo appears.
- Release the buttons – you will be taken to the Recovery Mode menu (manage by the volume and power buttons).

4 Unlock Mi Account with Mi Unlock Tool
If you need to enter data from Mi Account after reset, and you do not remember them, you will have to use the official Mi Unlock Tool utility. This method only works for devices that have not been unlocked before (i.e. locked at the bootloader level).
Algorithm of action:
- 🌐 Download Mi Unlock Tool from Xiaomi’s official website.
- 📥 Install the utility on your PC and run it on behalf of the administrator.
- 🔗 Get Redmi on board. 7A Fastboot mode (click Volume Down) + Power with the phone turned off).
- 🔑 Sign in to Mi Account in the program (use the data to which the phone is linked).
- 🕒 Wait 72 hours (if your account is new) or confirm unlocking through the SMS.
- 📱 Press Unlock – After restarting, the phone will be unlocked.
Note: Xiaomi limits the number of unlocks for one account (usually no more than 1 device in 30 days).If you previously unlocked another phone, you may need to create a new account.

Method 1: Fastboot firmware
If the phone doesn't unlock even after resetting, you can flash it through Fastboot using the Mi Flash Tool utility.
- Download the official firmware for Redmi 7A (Fastboot version).
- Unpack the archive and install the Mi Flash Tool.
- Connect your phone in Fastboot mode (see Section 4).
