You bought a used Xiaomi smartphone without a box, you gave you a smart Mi TV, or you just forgot which model your gadget has? Determining the exact modification of the device is not just curiosity. Without this information, you can't:
✔️ Find the right firmware to update
✔️ Buy compatible accessories (cases, protective glasses, remotes)
✔️ Selling the device at an adequate price
✔️ Contact the service center with accurate diagnosis
✔️ Check the originality of the device (especially relevant for Chinese versions)
In this article, we've collected all the possible ways, from obvious to hidden engineering techniques, no matter what device you have: a Redmi Note 12 Pro+ smartphone, a Mi TV Q2 75, a fitness bracelet Mi Band 8, or even an electric scooter Mijia M365. Each method is illustrated with screenshots and contains step-by-step instructions. Let's start with the simplest!
1. Checking the original box and documentation
If you still have the branded packaging, that's the quickest way, and the Xiaomi boxes have at least three different places on them:

The most versatile method for Android devices, the manual is suitable for all Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO and Black Shark smartphones, including outdated models like the Mi 5 or Redmi 4X.
Open the Settings menu → About the phone. Depending on the version of MIUI, the path may be slightly different:

🔍 What to do if the code is displayed instead of the model?
For example, 2201116PG or M2007J22C. This is the code name for the model for internal use.
- Copy the code.
- Go to the Xiaomi Device website.
- Enter the code in the search bar – the service will show the full name of the model.

3. Hidden engineering menus: for advanced users
If standard methods don’t work (for example, after a firmware or reset), you can use service codes. These combinations work on all Xiaomi smartphones, but you need to be careful – do not change the settings in the engineering menu without needing!
Enter the following combinations in the Phone application:
- 📱 ##4636## → The Testing menu will open. Go to the Device Information tab, and it will be the Phone Model line.
- 🔢 *#06# → It will. IMEI. First 8 digits (IMEI-1) They are unique to each model, and you can check them out at IMEI.info.
- 🛠️ ##225## → It will show information about the screen calibration, where the model is sometimes duplicated.
Note: Some models (e.g., POCO F5 or Redmi K60) may have their engineering menu blocked, in which case use alternative methods.

4. Define the model of the Xiaomi TV (Mi TV, Redmi TV)
Xiaomi smart TVs have a separate line of notations.

If you need complete information about the device (not only the model, but also the version of the chipset, memory, production date), use specialized utilities:
- 📱 CPU-Z — It shows the Model in the Device tab. It works without the Internet.
- 🔧 AIDA64 — system → Device, even supports older models on the MIUI 7.
- 🛠️ Mi Check (official) – checks the originality of the device IMEI.
📌 How to tell the difference between a fake?
In the AIDA64 appendix, note:
- 🔹 Motherboard – Must contain Xiaomi code (e.g., tissot for Redmi Note 5).
- 🔹 Sensor – if the sensors do not match the declared (for example, no sensors are available) NFC on POCO X3 Pro, it's a fake.

Determination of the model by external features
