Xiaomi Cloud (Mi Cloud) has become an integral part of Xiaomiβs ecosystem, allowing users to sync data between devices, backup and manage a smart home. However, many face the problem: the service interface is displayed in an unfamiliar language, and the option to change the language is either hidden or absent in the usual place.
Unlike the smartphone itself, where changing the language takes a couple of clicks, Mi Cloud behaves differently: there is no universal switch in the user profile, and the algorithm for changing depends on the way you sign in (browser or mobile application) and even on the region of your account. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to change the language, including hidden settings, bypassing regional restrictions and solving errors such as βno changes are savedβ or βno language in the listβ.
If you have already tried to change the language through Settings β Language and did not find the right option there, do not rush to reset your account. In 90% of cases, the problem is solved without radical measures, but requires knowledge of the nuances of the Mi Cloud. For example, in the web version of the service, the interface language is tied to the browser language, and in the mobile application β to the region of the Mi Account account.
Before you start the instructions, make sure you have:
- π± Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
- π Access to Mi Account (login and password)
- π Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) or the official Mi Cloud app of the latest version
1. Change the language in the web version of Xiaomi Cloud (via the browser)
The web version of Mi Cloud is the most versatile way to access the cloud, as it does not require installing apps. However, there is an important caveat: the interface language automatically adjusts to your browser language, not to your account settings. This means that if Chrome has Spanish installed, Mi Cloud will also appear in Spanish, even if your smartphone chooses Russian.
To change the language in the browser:
- Open the official Mi Cloud website and log in.
- Right-click on the empty page and select Translate to Russian (if you use Chrome) or a similar option in your browser.
- If automatic translation does not help, change the language of the browser: π₯οΈ In Chrome: Settings β Additional β Languages β Add languages π¦ In Firefox: Settings β Language and appearance β Choose a language π In Edge: Settings β Languages β Preferred languages

Ctrl+R
Important: If Mi Cloud still appears in the same language after changing the browser language, clear the browser cache or try opening the service in incognito mode, this is due to the fact that some interface elements are cached and not updated immediately.

If you use Mi Cloud frequently, bookmark the page in your browser. This will help avoid login problems when clearing the cache.
2. Change the language in the Mi Cloud mobile application
The official Mi Cloud app for Android and iOS has separate language settings that donβt always sync with the system settings of the smartphone, where the algorithm depends on the version of the app and the region of your Mi Account. For example, if your account is registered in China, then the list of available languages may not be Russian or English.
Instructions for changing the language in the appendix:
- π² Open the Mi Cloud app and log in.
- Slip on the profile icon (in the upper right corner).
- Select Settings (or Settings if the current language is not clear).
- If you donβt have one, the language is linked to your account region (see section 4).
- Select the language you want from the list and save the changes.
If your language is not on the list, try the following:
- Remove the app and install it again from Google Play or the App Store.
- When you first start the application can suggest to choose the language β choose the desired.
- If the problem persists, check your account region (more on this below).

3.Why Mi Cloud doesn't have the right language: regional restrictions
One of the most common reasons for missing language in Mi Cloud is because you have your account tied to a specific region, for example, if you have registered your Mi Account with a Chinese phone number or listed China as your country of residence, then only Chinese (simplified and traditional), English and possibly Spanish will be available in the language settings, and Russian, German or French will not show up in that case.
You can check the region of your account as follows:
- Go to the Mi Account website.
- Log in and open the Profile section.
- Find the Country/Region field.
If the wrong region is specified, you can only change it by contacting Xiaomi or creating a new account.
How to get around regional restrictions without changing your account
Note: Creating a new Mi Account will result in loss of access to old data in the cloud (photos, notes, backups).
4. Resetting Mi Cloud settings: when needed
If none of these things worked, and the interface language is unclear, you can try resetting your cloud service settings, which won't delete your data, but will return all the display settings to factory settings. Importantly, the reset doesn't affect your account region!
Resetting instructions:
- π± In the mobile application: Open Settings β About (or About) Tap 5-7 times on the app version until the message Settings resets.
- Open Mi Cloud in your browser.
- Click F12 (Developer Tools) β Application β Clear Storage tab.
- Update the page.
Error 4: "Only Chinese is on the list of languages"
- πΉ Reason: Account is tied to China.
- πΉ Solution: Contact Xiaomi support to change region or create a new account with the right country.
