Owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones often face intrusive notifications of a potential threat when installing third-party programs. Disabling these features requires understanding the security architecture of Android on the shell of MIUI or HyperOS. It just doesn’t work out that way, because developers are trying to protect the user from real threats. However, if you’re a power user, you need to know where the switches are hiding.

Why does the system block the installation of applications
The lock mechanism is not designed to annoy the user, but to prevent the installation of malware. When you download a file from your browser or receive it through a messenger, Play Protect and MIUI Security scan its signatures. If the program code matches the database of known viruses, the system will issue a warning.
Apps that modify the system, provide access to paid features, or are distributed bypassing official stores are often blocked. Xiaomi works with antivirus companies like Avast or AVG to check files, which creates an additional layer of security, but reduces the flexibility of using a smartphone.
Sometimes false positives are due to the lack of a developer's digital signature or the use of non-standard methods of packaging an application, in which case the system considers the file suspicious even if it is completely secure, and understanding this principle helps to choose the right method of bypassing the lock.

Disable the check in Google Play Protect
The first line of defense is Google Play Protect, which is built into the app store and runs on the Android operating system level, and even if you allow installation from unknown sources, Play Protect can block the app from launching immediately after it is installed.
To access the settings, open the Google Play Store app. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen. In the menu that opens, select Play Protect. This is where the app scanning switch is located.
