Movie search on a Xiaomi Mi TV can be automatically renewed, debiting money from a linked card β even if you havenβt used it for a long time. Unlike smartphones, where unsubscription takes a couple of clicks, on Smart TV the process is often hidden in the depths of the menu or even requires action on other devices. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to disconnect (including hidden ones), explain why subscriptions can remain active after deleting the application, and what to do if money continues to be written off.
Xiaomi Mi TVs (Mi TV 4S, Mi TV 5, Mi TV Q1/Q2, etc.) feature PatchWall, which is integrated with the system-level Kinopoisk services, which means that simply removing the app through Settings β Apps does not interrupt your subscription. You will need to cancel it through your Xiaomi account, Kinopoisk site or even your bank, depending on the payment method. Below are step-by-step instructions for each case, including screenshots and videos.
1. Disable subscriptions via the Xiaomi Mi TV menu
The most direct way is to use PatchWall's built-in settings, but it only works if you subscribe directly to your TV (not through your website or mobile app).
1. Turn on the TV and go to the main menu by pressing the Home button on the remote.
2. Open the Settings section (the gear icon in the upper right corner).
3. Select Accounts and Security β Subscription Management.
4.In the list, find the Movie Search (may appear as KinoPoisk or KP Plus).
5. Click on the subscription and select Unsubscribe or Do not renew.
- π If there is no βSubscription Managementβ item: Your Xiaomi Mi model uses an outdated version of PatchWall. Try updating the firmware (see section 4) or use alternative methods below.
- π± The subscription is made via the phone, then you can cancel it only through the mobile application Kinopoisk or the website (section 3).
- π³ The charge has passed, but the subscription is active? means that the payment is tied to the bank card directly.Cancel through the bank (section 5).
β οΈ Note: After cancellation, the subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period, for example, if you disabled it on the 15th and the renewal was the 1st, access to the content will remain until the 1st next month.

Removing the Cinema Search app from the TV: Does it help?
Many users mistakenly believe that deleting the Cinema Search app automatically cancels subscriptions. This is not true: the app only provides access to content, and payment information is stored on the servers of Kinopoisk or Xiaomi Pay. However, it is still useful to remove the application itself - to avoid accidental renewal.
Instructions for removal:
- Press the Home button on the remote to open the list of applications.
- Find the Movie Search (may be in the Video or Recommended folder).
- Press and hold the OK button on the remote until the menu appears.
- Choose to Delete (or Uninstall).
- Confirm the action by entering the password from the Xiaomi account, if necessary.
If there is no Delete button, the application is system (preinstalled).
- π§ Turn off auto-update: Settings β Annexes β Cinema search β Auto-update β Off.
- π« Hide from the menu: pinch OK icon β Hide.
- π΅ Limit Internet access: Settings β Network β Traffic management β Cinema search β Block it.
π‘
If your icon reappears after you delete the app, it is restored via PatchWall. To avoid this, turn off the Content Recommendations feature in your Xiaomi account settings.
3. Unsubscription through the website or mobile application of the Film Search
If you subscribed through a mobile app or a web version of Movie Search, you can't cancel it through the TV.
Method 1: Through the site kinopoisk.ru
- Go to kinopoisk.ru and log in.
- Hover over the profile avatar β My Kinopoisk.
- In the left menu, select My subscriptions (or Paid Services).
- Find an active subscription and click Manage β Cancel.
Method 2: Using a mobile application
- Open the Kinopoisk app on your smartphone.
- Slip on the profile icon (lower right corner).
- Select Settings β Subscriptions.
- Click on the active subscription and select Cancel Automatic Renewal.

4. TV firmware update: why can it help?
On Xiaomi Mi TVs older than 2020 (e.g. Mi TV 4S 55" or Mi TV 4A), PatchWall may not display the "Subscription Management" section due to outdated firmware, in which case the software update often solves the problem by adding missing options to the menu.
How to update firmware:
- Go to Settings β About TV β System Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- If a new version is available, confirm installation. The TV will restart.
If the automatic update does not work:
- π₯ Download the latest firmware for your model from the official Xiaomi website (section) TV).
- π Copy the file to a flash drive in format FAT32 (The file name should not contain Cyrillic!).
- π Connect the flash drive to the TV and select Settings β On TV. β Update through USB.
What to do if the TV is frozen when you update?
5.Cancel subscription through a bank or payment system
If the subscription was issued through a linked bank card (for example, when paying through Sberbank Online or Tinkoff), it can only be canceled by the bank.
- π° Money continues to be debited after cancelling your subscription in other ways.
- π± Subscription was issued through Samsung Pay, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
- π Autopayment is set up in the personal account of the bank.
Instructions for popular banks:
Sberbank:
- Open the Sberbank Online application.
- Go to Payments β Car payments.
- Find the movie search in the list and turn it off.
Tinkoff:
- In the app, go to Payments β Regular payments.
- Select the Film Search subscription and click Cancel.
VTB:
- In your account, select My Payments β Auto Payments.
- Find KinoPoisk or XIAOMI in the list and deactivate.
π‘
If the bank does not see a subscription in auto payments, but the money continues to be debited, request a card statement for the last 3 months.Look for payments with the names KINOPOISK, XIAOMI*Media or YANDEX*Kino - this will help identify the source of the debit.
6.Resetting the TV to factory settings: an extreme measure
If all of the above methods fail and the subscription continues to charge, the TV is completely reset, which will delete all data, including associated accounts and settings, but is guaranteed to interrupt the auto payments associated with PatchWall.
How to reset:
- Go to Settings β About TV β Reset settings.
- Select to erase all data (entry may be required) PIN-code).
- Confirm action. The TV will reboot and return to factory settings.
What to do after the discharge:
- π Do not sign in to the same Xiaomi account that was linked to your subscription.
- π₯ Install only the necessary applications, avoiding Movie Search.
- π Set up two-factor authentication for a new account.
β οΈ Note: Reset does not cancel subscriptions made through third-party services (e.g. Apple) ID The purpose of the system is to remove the link of the TV to the Xiaomi account through which the payment may have been made.
