Subscription to Ivi is automatically renewed if not disabled in advance. On Xiaomi TVs with Android TV or Google TV, the cancellation process may differ from the standard mobile application. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways, from basic settings to hidden methods through ADB (for power users).
The main problem is that the Mi TV interface often hides subscription controls in the depth of the menu, and some models (such as the Xiaomi Mi TV 4S or Mi TV Q1) can use stripped-down versions of Google Play where the standard paths don’t work. We tested all methods on TVs with MIUI TV firmware 2023-2026 and highlighted those that are guaranteed to work.
If you’re faced with a situation where money continues to be debited despite a subscription cancellation, there’s a section in this article that looks at common errors and how to fix them, and we’ve prepared an FAQ that answers frequent questions like what to do if the cancellation button is inactive or how to refund money for an unused period.
1. Disable Evie's subscription via TV settings
The most obvious way is to use Google Play's built-in tools on your TV, but on Xiaomi, this path can be hidden or modified.
- Open Evie's app. Run it from the home screen or through the All Apps menu.
- Click on the avatar in the upper right corner (or the gear icon if there is no avatar).
If there is no “My Subscriptions” option, try an alternative route:
- 📺 Open the Settings. → Annexes → Application management → Google Play Store → Warehouse → Clear the cache.
- 🔄 Restart the TV and try again.
- 🔍 If it doesn’t work, use the second method.
☑️ Preparation for cancellation of subscription
⚠️ Note: Xiaomi TVs with firmware older than 2022 may not have a My Subscriptions section in the Evie app.In this case, use the Google Play web version.
2 Cancellation via Google Play on your computer or phone
If the TV interface doesn’t allow you to disable your subscription, do so via a browser on another device, which works for all subscriptions made through a Google account, including Ivy, Kion or Okko.
Instructions:
- Go to Google Play – My Subscriptions.
- Sign in with the same account as you do on Xiaomi TV.
- Search Evie’s list and click “Manage” → “Cancel Subscription”.
- Select the reason for the cancellation (e.g., “Too expensive”) and confirm.
Important: After cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period, for example, if you cancel on the 15th and the tariff is extended to the 30th, access to the content will remain until the 30th inclusive.
| Action. | The result | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Cancellation via TV | Subscription deactivated | It doesn't work on all firmware. |
| Cancellation via Google Play (web) | Guaranteed shutdown | Requires authorization in the account |
| Cleaning up Google Play's cache | Can return hidden menu items | It doesn't affect the subscription itself. |
💡
If you continue to cancel, check your linked bank cards in Google Pay. Sometimes payments go through the stored data, even if the subscription is deactivated.
3. Disable auto payment through Evie's support
If the standard methods didn't work, contact Evie's support. This is true for subscriptions made directly on the service's website (not through Google Play).
- 📧 Email: support@ivi.ru
- 💬 Chats: in the application Evie (section "Help") or in the group VKontakte.
- ☎ Phone: +7 (495) 745-97-25 (call-in).
In the letter or message, indicate:
- Email linked to Evie's account.
- Phone number (if used for payment)
- Date and amount of the last write-off.
- Reason for cancellation (for example, “I do not use the service”).
The request is processed for up to 3 working days, and the confirmation of cancellation will be sent by email. Save this email! It will be needed if the write-offs continue.
What to do if support is not responding?
4. Reset TV settings (last resort)
If the subscription is tied to a Xiaomi account (not Google) and cannot be disabled in standard ways, resetting the TV to factory settings will help, which will delete all data, including installed apps and Wi-Fi settings!
Instructions:
- Go to Settings → About TV → Reset settings.
- Select Reset All Settings (not to be confused with Reset Just Sound/Image).
- Confirm the action with a password (by default - 0000 or 1234).
- After the reboot, reset the TV, but don’t sign in to your old Xiaomi account – create a new one or use guest mode.
⚠️ Note: Resetting does not guarantee cancellation of a subscription if it is linked to a Google account and not to a Xiaomi profile, in which case the subscription will remain active after the reset and must be canceled via Google Play.
5. Advanced method: Disconnection via ADB (for experienced)
If you’re familiar with the command line, you can disable your subscription via ADB (Android Debug Bridge), which is a good way to use Xiaomi TVs on Android TV 9-12, where standard methods don’t work.
What you need:
- 🖥 Computer installed ADB.
- 🔌 USB-cable for TV connection (or Wi-Fi network sharing).
- ⚙ Included debugging by USB on television (see below).
Steps:
- Activate debugging via USB: Settings → About TV → Software version (click 7 times in a row) Settings → Additional → For developers → Debugging by USB (enable)
- Connect the TV to your PC and execute the commands: adb devices adb shell pm list packages | grep ivi adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 en.ivi.client This will remove the Evie app for the current user (subscription will be disabled automatically).
Warning: Incorrect use of ADB can cause your TV to malfunction. If you are not sure, use other methods.
💡
Deleting the app via ADB cancels all of its subscriptions, but does not guarantee a refund for the current period.
6. Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Even after you cancel, you're going to have problems with people, and we're going to look at the most common ones.
- 🔄 The reason is that the TV uses a different Google account than the phone. Solution: check your Settings account. → Accounts and synchronization.
- 💳 The reason is that the auto payment is tied to a bank card in Evie, not to Google Play. Solution: cancel your subscription on the site ivi.ru/profile.
- ❌ The "Cancel" button is inactive, and the reason is that the subscription is made through a carrier (for example, MTS or Beeline.
