Have you bought a new Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphone but canβt find the standard calendar app? Or did it suddenly disappear after the MIUI update? This problem is familiar to many users β the manufacturer often hides system utilities in non-obvious menu sections, and sometimes removes them from the main screen. In this article, we will discuss all possible ways to access the calendar on Xiaomi devices, including hidden functions and alternative solutions.
It's important to understand that the calendar's location depends on the MIUI firmware version (12, 13, 14 or HyperOS) and the phone model. For example, on the Xiaomi 13 Pro, the path to the app may be different from the Redmi Note 10. We've taken these nuances into account and prepared universal instructions that will work for most of the brand's devices, and you'll learn how to return the calendar if it's gone, and how to sync it with a Google or Mi Account.
1. Standard method: Search through the application menu
The easiest way is to find a calendar in the general list of installed programs.
- Swipe your finger up from the bottom edge of the screen to open the app menu.
- Scroll down the list or use the search bar (the magnifying glass at the top of the screen).
- Enter the Calendar (or Calendar in English firmware).
If an app is found but is not on the home screen, press its icon and drag it to the desktop. On some MIUI firmware, the calendar may be called the Mi Calendar or Google Calendar - this depends on the sync presets.
What if the calendar isn't on the list? It may be disabled in the system settings. Go to Settings β Applications β Application Management and check the Disabled tab. If there's a calendar there, click on it and select Enable.
2. Quick access via a widget on the desktop
The calendar widget allows you to view the current date and upcoming events directly on the home screen.
- Touch the empty space on your desktop and hold your finger until the menu appears.
- Select Widgets (or Widgets).
- Find the calendar widget (usually called Mi Calendar or Google Calendar).
- Press the widget and drag it to the free screen space.
On MIUI 14 and later, widgets can be hidden in the Additional section. If you don't see the calendar in the list, try updating the firmware - sometimes widgets appear after the update.
Make sure the calendar is enabled in the application settings
Update MIUI to the latest version
Check the free space on your desktop (the widget will not be added if there is no space)
Restart your phone if the widget doesnβt show up-->
Tip: Google Calendar widget often offers more features than the standard one from Xiaomi. If you need reminders, recurring events or Gmail integration, install it from Google Play and use it instead of the built-in one.
3. Access via Xiaomi system settings
In some versions of MIUI (especially older models like the Redmi 4X or Mi A1), the calendar is integrated into the system settings.
- Open the settings (cog icon).
- Go to the Additional Settings or System and Device section.
- Select a date and a time.
- Some firmwares have a Calendar button or Calendar View button.
If this section is not available, try an alternative path: Settings β Accounts β Mi Account β Sync. There may be a calendar sync option here that activates the hidden app.
Why does the calendar disappear after the update?
Attention! On HyperOS firmware (2026 and later), the path to the calendar may be different. If you don't find it in the settings, try using Xiao AI voice assistant -- say, "Open the calendar," and the system will find the app itself.
4.Using the voice assistant Xiao AI
Xiao AI (or Google Assistant, if installed) can quickly open a calendar without searching the menu.
- Activate the assistant by holding the Home button or saying βOK, Googleβ (for Google Assistant).
- Say the command: "Open the calendar" or "Show me my calendar."
- If you have multiple calendars on your device (such as Mi and Google), check βOpen the Mi calendar.β
This method works even if the calendar icon is hidden or removed from the desktop, the main thing is that the application itself is not disabled in the settings.
Note: On some models (e.g. POCO F3), Xiao AI is disabled by default. To activate it, go to Settings β Additional β Xiao AI and turn on the assistant.
5.Install an alternative calendar from the Mi App Store
If the standard Xiaomi calendar doesnβt suit you (or doesnβt), you can install an alternative.
- π Google Calendar β full sync with Google account, reminders, integration with Gmail.
- π± Mi Calendar (official app from Xiaomi) β optimized for MIUI, Supports themes and widgets.
- π Business Calendar 2 - Extended scheduling features (paid, but free version).
- π DigiCal Calendar β Minimalist design with support for widgets.
To establish any of them:
- Open the Mi App Store (or Google Play).
- Enter the calendar name in the search bar.
- Click Install and wait for the download to be completed.
Important! Once you have an alternate calendar installed, the standard Xiaomi app may stop updating. If you need both, turn off automatic sync in your account settings.
π‘
If you use a calendar a lot, add it to the quick access bar, swipe down from the top of the screen, click "Edit" and add the calendar shortcut to the top menu.
6. synchronize calendar with Google or Mi Account
To make events from the Xiaomi calendar appear on other devices (such as a tablet or PC), set up sync:
| Action. | For the Mi Account. | For Google Account |
|---|---|---|
| Account login | Settings β Accounts β Mi Account | Settings β Accounts β Google |
| Synchronization activation | Activate the Calendar switch | Activate the switch Synchronization of the calendar |
| Data verification | Open Mi Calendar and update events | Open Google Calendar and wait for the update |
| Error elimination | Reboot your phone if events are not displayed | Check your internet connection and re-enter your account |
If you sync events with duplicate events, open your calendar settings and disable unnecessary accounts, for example, in Google Calendar you can hide individual calendars (working, personal, holidays) so that they do not interfere.
Attention! β οΈ When you change your Mi Account, all local calendar events can be deleted. To avoid data loss, export them in advance to the.ics file through the app settings.
7. Calendar Restoration after resetting or updating
If your calendar is missing after a hard reset or MIUI update, use these methods:
- Check hidden apps: Go to Settings β Apps β App Management β All apps and find the Calendar in the list. If it's disabled, turn it on.
- Update System Apps: Open the Mi App Store, go to Updates and check for updates for Mi Calendar.
- Reset the app settings: In the app management menu, select Calendar β Storage β Clear the data and restart the phone.
- Install APK manually: Download the official MiCalendar.apk from the APKPure website and install it by allowing installation from unknown sources.
On HyperOS devices (such as Xiaomi 14 or Redmi K70), the calendar can be part of the MiuiSystemUI package, in which case only a full reset or waiting for an official fix from Xiaomi will help.

If the calendar disappeared after upgrading to HyperOS, check for the branded Calendar app in the Mi App Store β sometimes it needs to be reinstalled, even if it was preinstalled.
