Where Xiaomi Phone Stores Reminders: 5 Ways to Find and Set Up

Have you forgotten where the important meeting or birthday reminder went on your Xiaomi smartphone? Or can you find the to-do list that was created in the standard app? The problem is that the manufacturer hides this feature in an unobvious way - especially after MIUI updates. In this article, we will analyze all possible places where reminders can be stored, including hidden system tools and third-party services.

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones use different versions of the MIUI shell, and the location of the feature depends on the firmware. Some reminders are hidden in the calendar, some in a separate Notes app, and in new versions they have been moved to Google services altogether. We analyzed all the options and compiled a universal instruction that will suit models from Xiaomi Mi 9 to Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

1. Standard Notes app - the main reminder repository

In 80 percent of cases, all your reminders are stored in the Notes app preinstalled, a universal MIUI tool that combines text, checklists and event notifications to find it:

  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ Open the app menu (swipe up from the main screen)
  • ๐Ÿ” Enter โ€œNotesโ€ in the search (in English firmware โ€“ โ€œNotesยป)
  • ๐Ÿ“Œ If there is no icon, check the Tools or Google folderยป
  • ๐Ÿ”„ In some models (POCO F5, Redmi K60) The appendix is called "Notesยป

Inside the Notes, go to the Reminder tab (bell icon in the bottom menu).

  • โฐ Single alarm clock events
  • ๐Ÿ“… Repeated tasks (daily/weekly)
  • ๐Ÿ“ Notifications attached to notes

๐Ÿ’ก

If there is no Reminder tab, update the Notes app through the Play Store, which was called Notifications in the older versions (MIUI 12 and below).

Importantly, some users confuse this app with Google Keep, which is installed separately. Xiaomi uses the companyโ€™s solution by default, not Google services.

2. MIUI Calendar: Where events with dates are stored

If you create a date-based reminder (like โ€œBuy a gift on March 15โ€), it is automatically saved to the system Calendar, a separate app with a calendar icon that syncs with your Mi Account.

How to find it:

  1. Open the Calendar (if there is no icon, check the Google folder).
  2. Tap on. โ˜ฐ โ†’ Reminders on the side menu
  3. Or go to the Day/Week tab โ€“ events will appear as color tags.

Critical feature: In MIUI 14+, reminders from Calendar and Notes can be duplicated if sync with Google is enabled. To avoid confusion, check your account settings in Settings โ†’ Accounts โ†’ Mi Account โ†’ Sync.

Alarm clocks with text in the appendix "Clock"

Few people know, but the standard Watch app (an icon with a dial) allows you to create alarm clocks with text reminders, which appear at a designated time, but are stored separately from the rest.

How to check:

  • ๐Ÿ•’ Open the clock. โ†’ Alarm clocks
  • ๐Ÿ“ Slip on an existing alarm clock โ€“ if there is text, it will appear in the field โ€œTagยป
  • โš™๏ธ V MIUI 13+ These reminders can be exported to the calendar through the menu ยซโ‹ฎ โ†’ Exportsยป
How to distinguish an alarm from a reminder?
The alarm clock in the Watch only works on time (for example, at 7:00 every day), while reminders in Notes or Calendar can be tied to a specific date (for example, โ€œMay 18 at 15:00โ€).

Note: If you delete the alarm clock with text, it will not be possible to restore it โ€“ unlike reminders in the calendar, which are stored in the cloud.

4.Google Services: Where to Look if You Use Gmail

On Xiaomi smartphones with Google Mobile Services (all models for the global market), reminders can be automatically saved to:

  • ๐Ÿ“… Google Calendar (Installation Remindersยป)
  • ๐Ÿ“ Google Keep (if you use it)
  • ๐ŸŽค Google Assistant (OK Google, remind me to buy milkยป)

To check:

  1. Open Google Calendar (if not, install it from the Play Store)
  2. In the side menu, select โ€œRemindersโ€ โ€“ they are marked with a separate color.
  3. For Google Keep: Open the note โ†’ tap on the bell at the bottom

One important caveat: if you delete a Google account from your smartphone, all reminders from its services will disappear, unlike Mi Account, where data is stored even after a phone is reset.

5. Hidden system reminders (for advanced)

MIUI has hidden system notifications that don't appear in standard applications, and you can find them through:

  1. Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ Notification history (enable history record if turned off)
  2. Settings โ†’ Applications โ†’ Application Management โ†’ System โ†’ โ€œAssistantโ€ (Here are stored voice reminders)
  3. Through ADB-command: adb shell dumpsys notification (will show all active notifications, including hidden notifications)

Enable notification history in settings | Check the Helper app | Use ADB for diagnostics (for experienced) | View logs via Mi PC Suite-->

These methods will be useful if:

  • ๐Ÿ” The reminder appeared, but has now disappeared from the visible applications
  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ You suspect a virus that creates hidden notifications
  • ๐Ÿ”ง You need to restore the data after resetting the settings

๐Ÿ’ก

System reminders from Assistant may conflict with Google Assistant. If you have duplicate voice commands, disable one of the services in your account settings.

6.Restore deleted reminders

If you accidentally deleted an important reminder, try these recovery methods:

SourceHow to repairStorage period
Mi Account (Notes/Calendar)Go to account.xiaomi.com โ†’ Recycle bin30 days
Google CalendarOpen the web version โ†’ Settings โ†’ Recycle Bin30 days
Local dataUse the Mi. PC suite TWRP-backupBefore the re-recording

For MIUI, there is a unique feature: if you synced the data with Mi Account, then even after a complete reset of the phone, reminders can be returned via:

  1. Sign in to the same account on a new device
  2. Open Settings โ†’ Mi Account โ†’ Cloud โ†’ Restore
  3. Select a backup with the desired date (reminders are stored in the System Data section)

๐Ÿ’ก

If you canโ€™t recover, check the /sdcard/MIUI/backup/AllBackup folder through the file manager โ€“ sometimes backups of notes are saved there.

Frequent problems and solutions

โš ๏ธ Note: If after the update MIUI If you've lost all the reminders, it's because you've changed the structure of the database, and don't try to restore them through third-party programs, because it can damage the system files:

  • ๐Ÿ”„ Reboot the phone.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฅ Update Notes and Calendar apps through the Play Store
  • ๐Ÿ”ง Reset the settings of these applications in Settings โ†’ Annexes โ†’ โ‹ฎ โ†’ Drop it.

Other common mistakes:

  • ๐Ÿšซ Reminders donโ€™t work: check if notifications for the app are disabled โ†’ Notifications
  • โณ Delayed notifications: Enable Settings โ†’ Battery โ†’ Performance mode for organizing applications
  • ๐Ÿ”• No sound: in MIUI 14+ Reminders by default vibrate without sound โ€“ change in the app settings

๐Ÿ’ก

If the problem persists after all the manipulations, try creating a new reminder in Google Calendar to help determine if the error is related to Xiaomi system apps or Android settings.
