Why Xiaomi TV is not included?
If your Xiaomi Mi TV or Redmi Smart TV refuses to boot, the causes can range from a banal power failure to serious hardware malfunctions. Most often, users are faced with three scenarios: a black screen without a reaction, a freeze on the logo or a cyclical reboot. In 60% of cases, the problem is solved by software methods without contacting the service center.
The first thing to rule out is external factors: check the outlet, the power cable and the remote control. If the indicator on the TV panel flashes or burns red, it is already a diagnostic signal. For example, on Mi TV 4S and Redmi X50 models, the red indicator indicates firmware problems, and the flashing white indicates hardware failure.
1. Checking power and connections
Start with a basic diagnostics -- it'll take less than 5 minutes, but it'll eliminate 30 percent of the possible causes. Turn off the TV for 30 seconds, then reconnect. Make sure that:
- π The power cable is tightly inserted into the connector DC-IN on the back (on the Mi models) TV Q1 porter).
- π If you use a network filter, connect the TV directly to the outlet (filters can block the initiation current).
- πΊ Replace the batteries on the remote control (even if the indicator is on fire β the discharge can be critical for the signal).
On Xiaomi TVs with Quick Start+, sometimes it helps to force this option to be turned off.
- Hold the power button on the remote for 10-15 seconds.
- If the TV is briefly turned on and off, the function is reset.
2. Reset settings through the service menu
If the TV is turned on but hangs on the Mi or Android TV logo, try hard reset, which works on 80 percent of models, including the Mi TV 4A, Mi TV 5 and Redmi X65.
βοΈ Preparation for discharge
To enter the service menu:
- On the TV switched off, press the Menu + Up button (or Menu + Down for 2020-2021 models) on the remote.
- Holding the buttons, connect the TV to the network.
- In 5-10 seconds, the Factory Mode menu will be available.
Select from the menu:
Wipe Data β Wipe All Data β Confirmβ οΈ Warning: This reset will remove all installed apps, accounts and settings. on Google models TV (Like Mi. TV Q2) Re-authorization will be required on Google services.
3. Manual firmware update
If the reset didn't work, it could be a damaged firmware. Xiaomi regularly releases bug fix updates, but the automatic installation sometimes fails.
Download the latest firmware version for your model from the official Xiaomi Support website. The file should have a.zip extension and weigh 1β1.5 GB. For example, for Mi. TV P1 June-to-June 2026 β MSP42_2.0.0.240610.

- Copy the firmware file to a flash drive formatted in FAT32.
- Rename the file to update.zip (important! without spaces).
- Put the flash drive in. USB-TV port (preferably) USB 2.0).
- Press on the Menu + Up remote and connect the power.
- From the menu, select Update via USB.

If the TV canβt see the flash drive, try another one. USB-port or format the drive in the exFAT file system (for models of 2022 and newer).
4. Diagnostics of hardware malfunctions
If the software methods didn't work, the problem could be the power supply, the motherboard, or the backlight of the screen.
- π΄ Red indicator flashes 3 times - power supply failure (frequent Mi problem) TV 4A post-stress).
- π’ Green indicator is on, but no image - failure LED-light-up.
- π The TV is cyclically rebooted β damage to the memory chip (eMMC) on the motherboard.
For self-checking:
- Remove the back cover of the TV (unscrew the T8 or T10 screws).
- Inspect the capacitors on the power supply - swollen or leaks of the electrolyte indicate a need for replacement.
- Check the connection of the plumes to the motherboard (on Redmi X65 models, the LVDS connector often departs).
How to check the power supply multimeter?
β οΈ Warning: Working with the TV's internal components requires skill and safety. The capacitors in the power supply can hold up to 24 hours after shutdown!
5. Fastboot Recovery (for advanced users)
If the TV doesn't respond to the reset and doesn't see the firmware from the flash drive, the Fastboot recovery method is still available, which is suitable for Android TV models (e.g. Mi TV 5 Pro or Redmi MAX 98).
- π₯οΈ Computer with drivers installed ADB and Fastboot.
- π Cable USB-A β USB-A (PC-connector).
- π Firmware in.img format (available on forums) 4PDA or XDA Developers).

The Fastboot method is only suitable for Amlogic TVs (e.g. Mi TV 4X or Redmi X55). MediaTek models (e.g. Mi TV ES2022) require a special UART cable.
6. Contacting the service center: when necessary
If all of these methods have not worked, you can contact an authorized Xiaomi service center, and here are the criteria for which repairing yourself is not advisable:
- π₯ Physical damage to the matrix (cracks, broken pixels).
- π₯ Burnt elements on the motherboard (blackened chips, melted tracks).
- π Cyclical reboot after firmware replacement (possible bootloader error).
The cost of repairs in official Xiaomi services (data for 2026):
| Type of malfunction | Cost (β½) | Duration of repairs |
|---|---|---|
| Replacement of the power supply | 3 500 β 5 000 | 1-3 days |
| Maternity board repair | 6 000 β 12 000 | 3-7 days |
| Replacement of the matrix | 15 000 β 30 000 | 5-10 days |
Important: The warranty on Xiaomi TVs is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, but does not cover damage from power surges or self-repair. Before visiting the service, make a backup if the TV responds to commands (for example, through ADB pull /sdcard).
