Why is the Mi Band the wrong time?
Before you change your settings, it's important to understand why the failure is happening, and most of the time is lost because of:
- π΅ No phone connection: The bracelet didnβt sync for more than 12 hours (for example, if you turned off Bluetooth or your phone went out of sync).
- βοΈ Time zone changes: when flying or traveling to another region, the automatic setting may not work.
- π Firmware updates: after an update of the bracelet or the Mi Fitness application, system data is sometimes lost.
- π± Smartphone failure: if the phone is incorrectly configured date/time or autosynchronization is disabled.
- π Battery discharge: At a charge level below 10%, the bracelet may malfunction.
In rare cases, a hardware defect, such as a battery pin dump or a real-time RTC chip, is to blame, but these problems are usually accompanied by other symptoms: the bracelet does not turn on, does not charge, or arbitrarily reboots.
Method 1: Forced synchronization through Mi Fitness
The easiest way is to manually update the data through the official app, which works if the bracelet is connected to the phone, but the time is not automatically updated.
Instructions:
- Open the Mi Fitness app (or Zepp Life for new models).
- Click on the icon of your bracelet at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to the Device block and select Sync Data.
- Wait for the process to be completed (the synchronization icon will appear on the bracelet screen). βοΈ).
If the time has not changed since the synchronization:
- π Reset the bracelet: Press the touch button for 10 seconds until the Mi logo appears.
- π± Restart the Mi Fitness app and sync again.
- π Make sure the bracelet charge level is above 20% (at low charge, synchronization may not work).

Method 2: Manual time setting (for Mi Band 6/7/8)
The new Mi Band 6 and higher have the ability to manually change the time directly on the wristband, which is convenient if you donβt have access to your phone or the app doesnβt work.
How to set up:
- On the bracelet, swipe up the screen to open the menu.
- Select the option More β Settings β Time and date.
- Click Set Time and select 24 hours or 12 hours (AM/PM) format.
- Adjust the hours and minutes with swipes up/down, then click Save.
Important: After manually adjusting, time will be lost every time you disconnect from your phone for more than 12 hours. To avoid this, go back to automatic sync in the Mi Fitness app.
What if the "Time and Date" item is not on the menu?
Method 3: Reset bracelet settings to factory
If the time is constantly lost or the bracelet is not synced with the phone, a complete reset will help, which will remove all data from the device (steps, pulse, alarm settings), but return factory parameters, including the correct time.
How to drop the Mi Band:
- On the phone, open Mi Fitness β select your bracelet.
- Go to Device Settings β Disconnect the device.
- Confirm the shutdown, then reconnect the bracelet as a new device.

- Confirm the action by pressing Yes (the screen will appear tick). β ).
Once reset, the bracelet automatically syncs the time with the phone when you first connect, and if that doesnβt happen, check the date/time settings on your smartphone (Autodetermination should be enabled).
