In this article, we will discuss all the working ways to change the language to Mi Band 5, including hidden settings, firmware updates and manual localization. Importantly, some methods require a connection to a smartphone, so prepare a device with Mi Fit or Zepp Life (a new name for the European market) in advance.

If your bracelet is purchased in China or on AliExpress without official localization, do not worry - Russian can be activated even on the "gray" versions of the Mi Band 5 through alternative firmware.

Method 1: Change the language through the Mi Fit app (official method)

The easiest and safest way is to change the language directly in the Mi Fit app, which works for most bracelets purchased from official Xiaomi stores or authorized retailers.

Here's the step-by-step instruction:

1. Open the Mi Fit app on your smartphone and connect to the bracelet via Bluetooth.
2. Go to the Profile section → Mi Smart Band 5.
3. Select the Device Settings option → Language.
4. In the list, find "Russian" and confirm the choice.
5. Wait for synchronization (the bracelet will reboot automatically).

If there is no Russian in the list of languages, then your firmware version does not support localization, in which case you go to Method 2 or Method 3.

⚠️ Note: If you use Zepp Life instead of Mi Fit, the path to language settings may be different: Device → Settings → General. → Some versions of the Russian app don't even have a menu, it's a bug that gets fixed by reinstalling Mi Fit.

Method 2: Update firmware to add Russian

If your Mi Band 5 is bought in China or has outdated firmware installed on it, the Russian language may not be in principle, the solution is to update the firmware to the latest version.

1. Open Mi Fit and go to Profile → Mi Smart Band 5 → Firmware Update.
2. If an update is available, click Update and wait for the process to complete (the bracelet will reboot several times).

If the first two things don't work, then the alternative is to run the bracelet through third-party software.

3. In the main menu, select Firmware Install.
4. Download a firmware file with support for Russian (for example, from here: AmigoFit).
5. Press Install and wait until the bracelet is completed (rebooted).
6. After firmware, check the language in the bracelet settings.

This method is suitable for Chinese versions of the Mi Band 5 (XMSH10HM model), which do not have official Russian support, but note that unofficial firmware may contain bugs or deprive you of warranty.
