Why you need an alarm clock on Mi Band 5 and what it does
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 fitness bracelet has long since ceased to be just a pedometer, a full-fledged assistant for monitoring sleep, activity and daily routine. One of the key advantages of the device is a built-in alarm clock that wakes up with vibration without disturbing others. Unlike a smartphone, the bracelet does not make sounds, but its signal is difficult to sleep: the vibration repeats in cycles until you confirm the awakening by pressing the screen.
The Mi Band 5 features support for multiple alarm clocks (up to 10) with flexible settings: you can set a one-time alarm for tomorrow morning or set a schedule for each weekday, while the bracelet synchronizes with sleep phase data (if the Smart alarm function is enabled in Mi Fit) and selects the optimal time to wake up in a given interval.
Itβs important to understand that the alarm clock on the Mi Band 5 works autonomously β even if the smartphone is dead or in another room, the bracelet will wake you up on schedule. However, you will still need the Mi Fit app (or its Zepp Life analogue for new firmware versions) to set up the initial setup.
Method 1: Set up the alarm clock through the Mi Fit app (main method)
This is the most reliable and versatile method that is suitable for all versions of the Mi Band 5 firmware.
- Open the Mi Fit app and make sure the bracelet is connected to the smartphone (at the top of the screen, the Connected status should be displayed).
Next, set the parameters:
- π Smart alarm: Turn on this option if you want the bracelet to analyze the sleep phases and wake you up at the optimal moment 30 minutes before the set time.
Once saved, the alarm clock syncs to the bracelet for 10 to 20 seconds, and to check its performance, you can set a test signal for the next minute.

Method 2: Quickly adjust directly from the bracelet screen
If you donβt have access to your smartphone or need to urgently add an alarm, you can do it directly on the Mi Band 5.
- β You can also add a one-time or daily alarm clock.
Instructions:
- Scroll the bracelet screen to the right to the item More (or More).
- Select an alarm clock (bell icon).
- Click Add and set the time with swipes up/down.
- Confirm your choice by clicking the box.
- Choose the days of repetition (or once) and save.
Important: alarm clocks created through the bracelet do not appear in the Mi Fit app until the first synchronization. To avoid duplication, it is recommended to use only one setup method.

If the bracelet screen does not display the item "Alarm clock", update the firmware through Mi Fit: Device profile β Update firmware.
Method 3: Set up through third-party apps (for advanced users)
If you donβt like standard methods, you can use alternative apps like Notify & Fitness for Mi Band or Tools & Mi Band 5.
- π΅ Alarm clock melodies (the bracelet will vibrate to the rhythm of music from the smartphone).
- π’ Multiple profiles (for example, individual settings for weekdays and weekends).
- π Awakening statistics (analysis of how quickly you turn off your alarm clock).
But there are nuances:
β οΈ Warning: Third-party apps require Mi Fit protection to be disabled in Android settings (Settings) β Annexes β Special access β Notifications. This can lead to synchronization conflicts. In addition, some functions (e.g., melodies) only work when an active Bluetooth connection is made to a smartphone.
Instructions for Notify & Fitness:
- Install the app from Google Play.
- Connect the bracelet in the Devices section.
- Go to the alarm clocks. β Add a new one.
- Set the time, melody and vibration.
- Save and wait for synchronization (can take up to 1 minute).
| Annex | Pluses | Cons |
