Xiaomi AirDots Pro wireless headphones (also known as Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic) remain a popular choice due to the balance of price, sound quality and battery life. However, even with such simple devices, users have questions: how to perform the first connection correctly, what to do if one earphone does not work, or how to reset the settings to factory. This article covers all the nuances from basic instructions to solving rare problems.
We will not only discuss standard Bluetooth pairing, but also alternative methods (e.g. connecting to multiple devices at once or restoring communication after a reset), and focus on the typical errors users make when they first turn on, as well as how to diagnose malfunctions. If you just unpack your headphones or have problems after updating your firmware, here you will find the answers.
Preparation of headphones Xiaomi AirDots Pro for the first connection
Before pairing with your phone, you need to make sure that the AirDots Pro headphones are fully charged and searchable.
- π Check the charge level of the case: the indicator on the front panel should burn white (100-70%), orange (70-30%) or red (less than 30.
- π§ Take both earbuds out of the case: they must automatically turn on (blitzes red/white LED). If this does not happen, press and hold the touchpad on each earbud for 3-5 seconds.
- π Make sure that the headphones are synchronized with each other: after extracting from the case, they should emit an audible signal and flash white (if they flash alternately red and white - a reset is required).
If the headphones are discharged, charging through the case takes about 1.5-2 hours (full cycle). To speed up the process, you can use a wired connection of the case to the power source with Quick Charge 3.0 support (for example, a charger from Xiaomi on 18W).
β οΈ Warning: Do not try to turn on the headphones if they are in the case - this can cause a failure of synchronization between the left and right modules.

What if the headphones are connected, but the sound is only in one?
Update the firmware through the Mi Home app
The manufacturer periodically releases updates for AirDots Pro, fixing plug-in bugs, improving sound and increasing battery life, to update the firmware:
- Install the Mi Home app from Google Play or the App Store.
- Register or log in to Xiaomi account (be sure to link the country to Russia or China in your profile).
Recent firmware versions (2026) add support for the LC3 codec, which improves sound quality and reduces video latency. If the Mi Home update doesn't show up, check your account region (some firmware is coming first to China, then to the Global version).

Updating your firmware through Mi Home is the only official way to get new features. Don't use third-party firmware, it can cause permanent damage to your headphones.
