Owners of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones often face a situation where, after updating the system or accidental action, the label of an important application disappears, which causes panic, especially if the program is urgently needed. However, in most cases, the program file is not gone anywhere, but simply stopped appearing on the desktop due to the features of the MIUI shell or HyperOS.
Android on the brand’s devices has many layers of protection and optimization that can hide interface elements, sometimes because of the “Do Not Disturb” mode enabled, the activation of hidden applications or the resetting of the launcher settings, and understanding the logic of the system will help quickly restore access to the desired functions without going to the service center.

Search for the application in the menu and restore the shortcut
The first thing you need to do is make sure that the app is actually installed on the device. Often users accidentally delete the shortcut from the desktop, thinking they have deleted the program itself. To check, you need to open the full menu of all the applications, usually by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or pressing a special button in the navigation bar.
If you find the app you want in the general list, but it's not on the home screen, it's very easy to get it back. Hold your finger on the app icon on the menu and drag it to any free area of the desktop. If the label sticks and stays in place after you let your finger go, the problem is solved.

Note that the changes take effect immediately. If the icon doesn't appear after you turn on the display, try restarting the launcher or the smartphone itself. This will update the GUI cache.
