Why the right channel setup is important for Xiaomi TV

However, many face problems: channels are not automatically located, interference occurs, or the broadcast list is displayed incorrectly, the reasons are rooted in the wrong scan parameters, outdated firmware or incorrectly selected signal source.
In this article, we will explore all the ways to configure channels on Xiaomi TVs, from basic auto search to manually adding frequencies, as well as solve typical problems: no signal, “snow” on the screen or loss of saved channels after an update. Instructions are relevant for models 2018-2026 based on Android TV and Google TV, including Mi TV 4S, Mi TV Q1, Redmi Smart TV X and others.
Particular attention will be paid to hidden tuner settings, which the manufacturer does not advertise, but which can significantly improve the quality of reception, for example, adjusting the signal level or priority of the broadcast source.
Preparing the TV for channel settings
Before starting scanning channels, several mandatory steps must be taken, and skipping any of them can cause failures or an incomplete list of channels found.

Autosearch is the easiest way to set up channels, but it only works correctly with a stable signal.
- Open Settings (cog in the upper right corner of the main screen).

Start the search

If the autosearch finds fewer than 20 channels (for DVB-T2), try repeating the scan with the Quick Search option disabled, which will increase the depth of frequency analysis.
Manual Channel Configuration: When and How to Use
Manual mode is necessary in three cases:
- The search engine did not find part of the channels (for example, regional or paid packets).
- The cable provider provided specific parameters (e.g., QAM-256 instead of the standard QAM-64).
- You need to add a separate channel at a known frequency (for example, to watch local broadcasts).
Instructions for manual adjustment:
- In the Settings → Channels → Channels Configure Channels, select Manual Search.
