Method 1: Recovery from the hidden folder of the system
The most reliable method is to find wallpapers in the file system of a smartphone. They are stored in the /system/media/theme/default/wallpaper folder, but access to it requires root rights or use a file manager with support for system partitions (for example, MiXplorer or FX File Explorer).
If you don’t have root rights, try this workaround:

- 🔍 Use the adb pull command /system/media/theme/default/wallpaper in the PC terminal to copy the folder to the computer.

If you've ever done a backup through the standard Backup app (Settings → Additional → Backup and Reset), the wallpaper could have been archived to retrieve it:
- Connect your phone to your PC and find the MIUI/backup/AllBackup folder.
- Open the latest backup (a file with the.mbk extension) via Mi PC Suite or the archiver.
- Go to system/media/theme/default/wallpaper.
This method doesn't always work, because the backup only saves user settings, not all system files, but if the wallpaper was set as "default" at the time of creation of the backup, there is a chance of their recovery.

Backup in MIUI only saves wallpaper if it was selected as the main one at the time of the backup creation. Standard backgrounds that have never been installed are not included in the archive.
