Xiaomi Redmi 9T smartphone based on MIUI offers several ways to take a screenshot of the screen β from classic to hidden features. But many users still do not know how to use gestures or a floating ball Quick Ball, and some do not even suspect the possibility of screenshots of a long page.
In this article, we will not only list all the available methods, but also show you how to customize them, where to look for saved images, and what to do if standard combinations do not work, and also reveal one secret method that is not even written in the official documentation of Xiaomi.
1. Classic method: power and volume buttons
The most versatile method that works on all Xiaomi smartphones, including the Redmi 9T. You do not need to configure anything - just remember the combination:
β οΈ Note: Press the buttons at the same time and with a small delay (0.5-1 If you hold them too long, you turn them off or reset the device.
- π± At the same time, press the power button (right) and the volume reduction button (left).
- π― Hold on. 1-2 seconds until the screen blinks and save animations appear.
- π Hear the characteristic shutter sound (unless the system sound is switched off).
This will work even on a locked screen, for example, if you want to take a picture of a notification or a lock screen, but note that some versions of MIUI require you to pre-activate the option in the security settings.

If you have a case with a cutout under the buttons, try to take a screenshot without a case - sometimes it interferes with synchronous pressing.
2. Three-finger gesture is the fastest method
A MIUI signature chip that saves time: instead of pressing buttons, just swipe three fingers down on the screen, but first you need to turn on this feature:
- Open Settings β Additional functions β Gestures.
- Find the screenshot item with three fingers and activate the switch.
- (Optional) Enable the screenshot preview option for quick editing.
Now to take a picture:
- ποΈ Attach three fingers (usually index, middle and ring fingers) to the screen.
- β¬οΈ Smoothly swipe down without tearing your fingers off until you feel the vibration.
- πΈ Screenshot saved in the gallery.
This method is especially useful for games or applications where the power and volume buttons are occupied by a gamepad or other functions, and it works even with one hand if the smartphone is lying on the table.
3. Voice command via Google Assistant
If you have Google Assistant on, you can take a voice screenshot, which saves you when your hands are busy or your screen is dirty.
- Activate the Assistant with your voice (OK, Google) or hold the Home button.
- Say, "Take a screenshot" or "Screenshot."
- Confirm permission to access the screen (required only at first use).
Advantages of the method:
- π€ It works from a distance (if the microphone is on).
- π Can be used for a series of screenshots in a row.
- π Supports several languages (including Russian).
β οΈ Attention: On some firmware MIUI for Redmi 9T Voice screenshots are saved to a separate folder Screenshots/Assistant. Check it out if you donβt find the photo in the main gallery.
