Did you just buy a new Xiaomi smartphone and notice that when you type messages or enter a password, the keyboard works silently? Or maybe after the MIUI update, the usual tap sound disappeared? This problem is familiar to many brand users - from budget Redmi to flagship Mi and POCO. You can turn on the keyboard sound effects in seconds, but the settings menu in MIUI sometimes hides the obvious options in unexpected sections.

Why is there no sound on Xiaomi when you press the keys?
Before you turn on the sound effects, you should understand why they might have gone missing. Here are 5 of the most common reasons:

Method 4: Reset keyboard settings (if no sound is turned on)

- ⏳ Sound delay: Occurs due to optimization MIUI. Try disabling Mi-optimization for the keyboard: Settings → Annexes → Application management → keyboard → Battery → No restrictions.
- 🔕 The sound disappears with a long set: It's a bug MIUI 14/15. Solution: Enable Performance Mode in Settings → Additionally. → Performance mode.
- 🎧 Sound only plays on headphones: Check to see if the Sound option is activated through the speaker in the keyboard settings. Also clean the headphone jack (sometimes the phone mistakenly "thinks" they're connected).
- 🔊 Too quiet sound: In MIUI The volume of the keyboard is tied to the system sounds. Increase the volume through the physical buttons when the keyboard is active.
