We warn you right away: in the latest versions of MIUI 14/15, the manufacturer has tightened the rules for third-party tunes. Now not every audio file can be assigned as a signal - the system checks the duration, format and even bitrate of the file (at least 64 kbit / s).
Method 1: Using standard MIUI settings (the simplest)
If you don’t want to install additional apps, use built-in tools, which works on all models, from the Redmi Note 12 to the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Algorithm of action:
- 📱 Open the Settings app → Sound and vibration
- 🔔 Select the Call Melody (or Call Signal in some firmware)
- 🎵 Click Add a Melody (bottom of the screen)
- 📁 Select an audio file from the device’s memory (Music, Ringtones or Downloads folders)
Important: the system will only show files that support MP3, M4A, WAV formats up to 30 seconds long. If your track does not appear, check its settings through any audio application.

- Reset the device

Method 4: Bypassing MIUI restrictions through ADB (for advanced)
