Yandex Stallion smart speakers (Alice series, Yandex Station) and Xiaomi TVs (Mi TV series, Redmi Smart TV) are a popular combination for creating a home multimedia center. However, their compatibility is not always obvious: manufacturers do not advertise direct integration, and users face problems of synchronization. In this article, we will analyze all working ways of connecting, from standard Bluetooth to advanced scenarios through HDMI ARC and Yandex IoT.
The peculiarity is that Xiaomi uses its own Mi Home ecosystem, and Yandex is Alice platform with Yandex IoT protocol. There is no direct bridge between them, but there are workarounds. We tested them on Xiaomi Mi TV P1 55 models, Redmi Smart TV X50 and Yandex Mini Station 2 speakers, Yandex Station Max - the results below.
1. Connection via Bluetooth: The easiest way
This is a basic method that works on all Xiaomi TVs with Bluetooth 4.2+ support and Alice speakers (except the first version of Yandex Station 2018), the advantage is no wires and minimal settings.
Connection algorithm:
- ๐น Turn on Alice and activate pairing mode (say: "Alice, turn on Bluetooth" or press the microphone button for 5 seconds).
- ๐บ On the Xiaomi remote TV press Settings โ Bluetooth & devices โ Add device.
- ๐ Find a device called Yandex Station [XXX] (where [XXX] โ last-minute MAC-address).
- ๐ Confirm the connection on both devices.
Once paired, the speaker will automatically connect to the TV when turned on. To return the sound to the TV speakers, go to Settings โ Sound โ Output Device and select TV Speakers.
๐ก
If the sound is interrupted, reduce the distance between the devices to 3 meters or remove other Bluetooth devices from the TVโs memory (e.g., headphones or gamepads).
2. Connection via HDMI ARC: better sound quality
The method is suitable for those who want minimal latency and high sound quality (up to Dolby Digital+).It is only suitable for Xiaomi TVs with an HDMI ARC port (for example, Mi TV Q2 75, Redmi Smart TV A65) and speakers with ARC support (for example, Yandex Station Max via an adapter).
What you need:
- ๐ Cable HDMI 2.0 (or higher) with support ARC.
- ๐ adapter HDMI ARC โ 3.5 mm AUX (if the column does not have HDMI-entrance).
- โก Power supply for the adapter (if required).
Step-by-step:
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the ARC port on the TV, the other to the adapter (or directly to the speaker if there is an input).
- Go to Settings โ Sound โ HDMI ARC โ Enable.
- Select HDMI ARC as your primary sound source in Sound Output.
- In the column, activate the AUX mode (if an adapter is used).

Important nuance: some Xiaomi models (for example, Mi) TV 4S) Requires manual activation of functions CEC customized HDMI. Without it. ARC may not work.
3. Connection via Wi-Fi and Yandex IoT (for smart home)
This is a way for owners of smart homes based on Yandex, which allows you not only to broadcast sound, but also to control the TV voice through Alice, for example, to say, "Alice, turn on Mi TV on Netflix," but this will require additional equipment โ Mi Box S or Xiaomi TV Stick.
Scheme of work:
- Connect the Mi Box to your TV via HDMI.
- In the Yandex app (on your smartphone), add the Mi Box as a smart home device via Yandex IoT.
- Link Alice and Mi Box in the same scenario (e.g., "Cinema" โ turn on TV + switch the sound to the speaker).
Limitations of the method:
- โ It only works with Xiaomi consoles (not directly from TV).
- โ Sound delay ~150 ms (better than Bluetooth, but noticeable in games).
- โ Requires stable Wi-Fi 5 GHz.

Connection via AUX (3.5 mm): universal option
If your Xiaomi TV doesnโt support Bluetooth (e.g., the older Mi TV 3 models) and the HDMI ARC is missing, the classic 3.5mm AUX remains. This method guarantees zero audio latency and is compatible with any Alice speaker (via AUX IN input).
Instructions:
- Buy a cable of 3.5 mm - 3.5 mm (length up to 5 meters).
- Connect one end to the exit. AUDIO OUT on the TV (usually located on the back panel).
- The other end is inserted into the AUX IN connector on the column.
- On the Xiaomi remote, go to Settings โ Sound โ Output Device โ Wired Headphones.
Critical point: on some Xiaomi models (for example, Mi) TV 4A) exit AUDIO OUT It only works with the connected cable. HDMI to an active signal source (e.g., a set-top box) without which no sound will be transmitted.
5. Connect via Chromecast or Miracast: for streaming
If you only need to stream audio from your TV to Alice while watching movies or music, you can use Chromecast or Miracast protocols, which requires an additional device, such as Google Chromecast or Xiaomi Mi TV Stick.
The algorithm for Chromecast:
- Connect Chromecast to HDMI-television-port.
- In the Google Home app on your smartphone, add Alice as a speaker for a group of devices.
- When playing content (like YouTube), select Chromecast as the output device.
For Miracast (only for Android devices):
- ๐ฑ Turn on Miracast on your smartphone (Settings) โ Connections โ Miracast).
- ๐บ On Xiaomi TV, activate Screen Mirroring in Settings โ Connection & Sharing.
- ๐ Connect your smartphone to the TV, then redirect the sound to Alice's speaker via Bluetooth.

6 Problem Solving: What to do if there is no sound
Even with the right connection, there can be failures, and the following are the most common errors and ways to fix them:
| Problem. | Possible cause | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| The column is not on Bluetooth. | The pairing mode is not activated | Say "Alice, turn on detection" or press the microphone button for 5 seconds. |
| The sound is interrupted. | Interference from other devices | Turn off 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or move the speaker closer to the TV |
| HDMI ARC doesn't work | CEC disabled in settings | Turn on the Settings. โ HDMI CEC โ Enable |
| No sound through AUX. | Wrong source chosen | Check out Settings โ Sound โ Output Device |
| The column is plugged in, but there's no sound. | Volume in column = 0 | Say "Alice, turn it up" or use the +/- buttons. |
If none of these methods worked, reset the sound settings on the TV:
Settings โ Device Preferences โ Reset โ Reset Sound Settings๐ก
Before reset, write down the current sound settings (balance, equalizer), as they will return to factory values.
โ ๏ธ Attention: On Xiaomi TVs with firmware MIUI TV 3.0 and below may not support Bluetooth A2DP (You need to get the audio to the speaker. Update the software via Settings. โ About โ System Update.
7. Comparison of Connection Methods: Which One to Choose
To determine the best method, evaluate your priorities:
- ๐ฎ For games: only HDMI ARC or AUX (minimum delay).
- ๐ฌ For movies: HDMI ARC Bluetooth (unless the lag is critical).
- ๐ต For music: Wi-Fi (Yandex IoT) or Chromecast (best quality).
- ๐ For a Smart Home: Yandex IoT + Mi Box (voice control).
If your Xiaomi TV is released before 2019, check for ports:
- ๐ HDMI ARC โ Only in the Mi models TV Q, Mi TV 4 Pro.
- ๐ Bluetooth is not available in Mi TV 3 and Mi TV 4A (external adapter is required).
- ๐ AUX OUT โ All models are available except the Redmi Smart. TV X (only) HDMI ARC).
๐ก
For Xiaomi 2020 and newer models, the best choice is HDMI ARC (if there is a port) or Bluetooth 5.0 (latency ~100 ms).
