The ringtone on Xiaomi is the first thing people hear when they call you. Standard ringtone in MIUI quickly get bored, and a poorly chosen tune can even embarrass in a public place. 1. Method 1: Change the ringtone through the MIUI settings
The easiest method is to use the built-in MIUI tools. It is suitable for all modern Xiaomi smartphones, including the POCO F5, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ and flagship Xiaomi 14. The main advantage of this method is that you do not need to install additional programs or dig into the file system.
To change the ringtone:
- Open the Settings app (the gear icon on the home screen).
- Go to the section Sound and vibration.
- Slip on the item "Melody of the call" (or "rington" in some versions of the firmware).
- Choose one of the melodies you'll find. In MIUI 15, they're categorized as Classics, Electronics, Nature, and more.
- Press OK or Save (depending on the shell version).
If you want to assign different ringtones to SIM-map:
- 📞 In the same menu, select the Melody of the Call to Set up for SIM-map.
- 🎶 Please indicate a separate melody for SIM 1 and SIM 2.
- 🔕 To turn off the sound on one of the sims, select the option No sound.

2. Method 2: Installation of your own MP3-ringtone

Instructions for MIUI 14/15:

- Connect your phone to your PC or use Explorer on your smartphone.
- Create a Ringtones folder at the root of internal memory (if it's not there: /storage/emulated/0/Ringtones.
- Put your audio file there (for example, my_ringtone.mp3).
- Reboot your phone (required!).
- Go to Settings → Sound and Vibration → Call Melody – your file will appear in the list.
If the file is not displayed:
- 🔍 Check the extension (should be.mp3, not.mp3.mp3).
- 📂 Make sure the folder is called Ringtones (registration is important!).
- 🔄 Try moving the file to the Notifications folder – sometimes it works.

3. Method 3: Using applications for ringtones
If you need more flexibility - like cropping a track, adding effects or downloading ready-made ringtones - use third-party apps.

How to install ringtone through Zedge:
- Download Zedge from Google Play.
- Open the app and select the Ringtones section.
- Find your favorite melody (you can filter by genres: Movie, Games, Nature).
- Slip on the track and select Set as a ringtone.
- Confirm the selection in the pop-up window.

If the ringtone is not used after you install it through Zedge, restart the phone. Sometimes MIUI caches the old sound settings.
For models with double SIM-card (for example, Xiaomi 13 Lite or Redmi) 12C) You can assign different tunes to Zedge:
- Install the first ringtone through the app.
- Return to Settings → Sound and vibration → Call melody.

4. Set up notifications and alarm clock

If the user ringtones are missing after upgrading to MIUI 15:
- Check if the Ringtones folder has been reset.
- Move files back to the folder (sometimes the update moves them to Download).

⚠️ Note: On some models POCO (for example, POCO X5) When you reset to factory, custom ringtones are removed from the Ringtones folder. Always back up important audio files to the cloud or PC.
