Why the vibration in Xiaomi games is annoying and how to deal with it
Vibrational responses in mobile games on Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphones are often a source of discomfort. Even in modern models like Xiaomi 14 or Redmi Note 13 Pro+, standard MIUI settings do not always allow flexible management of tactile feedback, the problem is compounded by the fact that vibration not only distracts from gameplay, but also drains the battery 5-12% faster (according to GSMArena tests for 2023).
The root of the problem lies in the architecture of MIUI Game Turbo, a proprietary game mod from Xiaomi that automatically activates vibration to โimmersively improve immersion.โ System vibration settings (Settings โ Sound and Vibration) often do not block tactile response in games. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to disable vibration, including hidden developer settings and third-party utilities that work on MIUI 12-14.
Method 1: Turn off vibrations through game settings
The most obvious but often ignored method is to check the settings directly in the game itself. Many modern projects (such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile or Genshin Impact) have built-in vibration control options that redefine system settings.
To find these settings:
- ๐ฎ Open the game and go to the Settings menu (usually the gear icon in the upper right corner)
- ๐ Look for sections like Control, Sound, or Tactile Feedback
- ๐ฑ Turn on the option Turn off vibration or vibration: off.
- ๐ Restart the game to apply changes
It is important to consider that in some games (for example, Free Fire or Mobile Legends) the vibration option can be hidden in the submenu Additional or Special features. If you do not find such an option, then the game uses the system vibration settings, and you need to move to the following ways.
๐ก
In Tencent games (such as Honor of Kings), the vibration can only be turned off through MIUI system settings, as developers block internal settings for users outside of China.
Method 2: Using Game Turbo to control vibration
MIUI Game Turbo is a built-in game mod that optimizes performance during games, but also controls tactile feedback. To turn off vibration through this tool:
- Launch any game from the main screen
- Swipe from top to bottom to open the notification panel
- Click on the Game Turbo notification active (game controller icon)
- In the menu that opens, select Settings (cog in the upper right corner)
- Go to the section Tactile feedback
- Turn off the slider Vibration when touching
On some models (e.g. Xiaomi 12T or POCO F5), the path may be slightly different:
Game Turbo โ Additional settings โ Vibration โ DisableIs Game Turbo open in the notification panel?
Is the โProductivityโ mode activated?
Is the vibration in the "Tactile feedback" section disabled?
Is the game restarted after the changes?

โ ๏ธ Attention: On devices with MIUI 14 for the global firmware version (Global) ROM) The vibration partition in Game Turbo may not be available, in which case try updating the firmware to the latest version or using alternative methods from this article.
Method 3: Global Vibration Disconnection in MIUI settings
If previous methods have failed, you can try to completely turn off vibration at the system level, which affects all applications, including games, but can lead to the skip of important notifications (for example, alarm clocks or calls).
Instructions for MIUI 12-14:
- Open Settings (cog icon on the main screen)
- Go to Sound and Vibration.
- Select Vibration.
- Turn off all sliders: ๐ณ Vibration on touch ๐ Vibration on the bell ๐ฌ Vibration on notifications

Some firmware (e.g. Xiaomi.eu) may have a separate Vibration setting in games, which must also be deactivated.
MIUI Global|MIUI China|Xiaomi.eu|Custom ROM (e.g. Pixel Experience)|I don't know-->
| Xiaomi model | The path to vibration settings | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi 13/13 Pro | Settings โ Sound โ Vibration and tactile feedback | There is a separate switch for games. |
| Redmi Note 12 Pro+ | Settings โ Additional โ Special Opportunities โ Vibration | Reboot required |
| POCO X5 Pro | Settings โ Sound and vibration โ Vibration when touched | There are no separate settings for games |
| Xiaomi Pad 6 | Settings โ Device โ Vibration | On tablets, the vibration is weaker by default |
โ ๏ธ Warning: A complete shutdown of vibration in the system may result in you not feeling low battery alerts or important notifications.
Method 4: Use Do Not Disturb Mode for Games
A little-known life hack is the use of Do Not Disturb (DND) mode to block vibration in games. This method does not turn off vibration completely, but allows you to create a rule that will automatically activate when you start games.
How to set up:
- Open Settings โ Notifications and Status Bar โ Do not disturb
- Select the Automatic Enablement Rules
- Click Add the rule and select When you start the application
- In the list, select the games you want to turn off the vibration (e.g. Clash Royale, Brawl Stars)
- In the settings, activate the rules: ๐ Turn off notification sounds ๐ Turn off the vibration. ๐ Hide notifications (optional)
Keep the rule and check its work.
This is especially useful for those who want to turn off vibrations only in specific games without affecting system settings. However, note that DND will also block all notifications, including messages in messengers.
What if the DND rule doesnโt work?
Method 5: Disabling vibration through ADB (for advanced users)
If standard methods don't work, you can use Android Debug Bridge (ADB), a low-level system management tool that requires you to connect to your computer and enable developer mode.
Step-by-step:
- Activate Developer Mode: Settings โ About Phone โ MIUI Version (click 7 times)
- Return to Settings โ More โ For developers and enable USB Debugging
- Connect your phone to your PC and confirm your debugging permission
- Download ADB Tools and open the command line in the folder with utilities
- Execute the command to turn off vibration: adb shell settings put global vibrate_on_touch 0
- To turn off the vibration in games, additionally perform: adb shell settings put global gaming_vibration 0
- Reset the device
On some devices (such as Xiaomiโs Black Shark 5), the vibration is controlled through Shark Spaceโs proprietary software.
- Open Shark Space (shark icon in the app menu)
- Go to Settings โ Tactile feedback
- Disable all sliders associated with vibration
If you use a gamepad (e.g., Xiaomi Game Controller), the vibration may come from it, in which case, turn it off in the controller settings via the Mi Game Controller app.
