However, many users face difficulties when connecting for the first time: the lamp does not find the network, flashes red, or the application gives an error "Device does not respond." In this article, we will examine all possible ways to connect, from basic settings via Wi-Fi to alternative methods using Bluetooth and third-party firmware.

2. Connection via Mi Home: step-by-step instructions
The official way to connect is through the Mi Home app (download for Android or iOS).
- Step 1: Put the lamp in the socket. Wait for the indicator to flash orange (attachment standby). If the lamp is on white, it's already connected to another device (reset).
- Step 2: Open Mi Home, log in (or register) and select Russia (or Mainland China if the lamp is Chinese).

- Step 4. Confirm the flashing of the indicator on the lamp (click the Indicator flashes in the application).

3. Alternative ways of connecting
If the standard method doesnβt work, use one of these options:
Method 1: Connect via Bluetooth (for new models)

- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.

- After connecting, the lamp will suggest switching to Wi-Fi β agree or leave Bluetooth (but the functionality will be limited).
Method 2: Change the region in Mi Home to China
If your lamp is purchased in China (on AliExpress, Taobao, etc.), it can be blocked for other regions.
- In Mi Home, go to profile (top right corner).
- Click on the current region (e.g. Russia) and select Mainland China.
- Leave the account and log in again.
- Repeat the process of adding the lamp.

Method 3: Connecting through third-party firmware (for advanced)
If the lamp refuses to work with Mi Home, you can flash it with alternative software, like OpenBeken or Tasmota, and it gives you:

5. Resetting the lamp to factory settings
If the lamp does not connect, flashes red or "hangs", reset:

- Hold the button for 10-15 seconds until the indicator flashes yellow.
