1. Preparation of the vacuum cleaner and smartphone before connection
Before you start pairing, make sure both devices are ready for the process. Neglect of preparation is the main cause of errors such as 10004 (“failed to connect to the device”).
Start with a robot vacuum cleaner:
- 🔋 Charge the battery to at least 30%. Low charge can interrupt the setup process.
- 📡 Check that the vacuum cleaner is within 2 meters of the router. Walls and furniture weaken the signal.
- 🔄 Reset to factory settings if the device has already been used. To do this, press the Reset button (usually on the bottom panel) for 5-10 seconds before the beep.
Now prepare your smartphone:

Follow the algorithm in strict order. If you skip a step, for example, do not confirm the region, the vacuum cleaner will not appear in the list of devices.

- Open Mi Home and tap the + icon in the upper right corner.
- Select the category "Cleaning" → "Robot vacuum cleaner".
