To make your new assistant work effectively, you need to properly perform the initial configuration through your smartphone. It is the mobile application that acts as the control center, allowing you to schedule cleaning, select modes of operation and monitor the state of filters in real time.
The process of pairing a device with a gadget usually takes no more than five minutes, but many users have difficulties when choosing a region or connecting to the network. In this article, we will discuss each step of installation in detail, paying special attention to the nuances that are often overlooked when you first start.
Preparation for the first launch and charging
Before you try to sync your device with the Internet, you need to make sure that it is physically ready to go. Most new models of Xiaomi Robot Vacuum come with a partially charged battery, but for stable implementation of the firmware update procedure, you should put the device on base.
Turn on the vacuum cleaner by pressing the appropriate button on the case or holding it for a few seconds until the voice greeting appears. The status indicator should light up, signaling the readiness of the system. If the device has been in stock for a long time, it may take about 30 minutes of work from the network to reach the optimal level of charge.

Once installed, launch the app and create a Xiaomi Account. This is your single key to all the manufacturer's services. The critical thing is to choose a region when you first sign in, so if you buy a global version of a device, choose your country of residence, and if the device comes from China (Chinese version), change to China, which will determine the list of available devices and the server on which the cleaning cards will be stored.
The process of adding a device to the system

Setting up the map and cleaning areas

Immediately after the connection, the application may suggest updating the device's software, the firmware contains bug fixes and new navigation algorithms, it is recommended to agree to the update, but make sure that at this point the vacuum cleaner is on the base and not busy cleaning.
You can set up a schedule for cleaning each day of the week, select the suction power and water supply level (for detergent models), and you can set up voice support, you can choose the language and volume, or you can turn off voice notifications if they annoy you.
