With modern multimedia capabilities, it’s easy to share content from a mobile device on a large screen. Samsung and Xiaomi bundle owners often face the challenge of bringing photos or videos from their phone to their TV, a process that seems complicated only at first glance, but actually takes only a couple of minutes with the right approach.
For successful device synchronization, you need to take into account the features of operating systems: Samsung smartphones use the One UI shell based on Android, and Xiaomi TVs run Android TV or PatchWall. The key condition for most methods is the presence of both gadgets in the same local Wi-Fi network.
There are several proven ways to organize the broadcast: you can use built-in system functions, third-party applications or hardware solutions, and the choice of method depends on whether you want to show a dynamic screen image or a static media file from the gallery.
Wireless screen broadcast via Miracast
The most common way is to use Miracast technology. In the Samsung ecosystem, this feature is called Smart View. Xiaomi TVs support this protocol by default, because they are based on Android. You don't need to download anything if both devices are on and connected to the same network.
To get started, lower the notification curtain on your smartphone and find the Smart View icon. If it's not visible, scroll through the panel to the left and tap three dots or a plus to add a button. Once activated, the phone will start looking for available displays.
On the screen of Xiaomi TV, you may see a request to confirm the connection. Use the remote to accept the connection. Image latency when using Miracast is minimal, but can vary depending on the quality of the Wi-Fi signal.

When using DLNA, the TV perceives the phone as a network drive, which means that you can pause the video, answer a call, or even turn off the smartphone screen, and playback on Xiaomi will continue.

Xiaomi has developed its own Mi Remote (or Mi TV) app, which turns a smartphone into a remote control, and while its primary function is to control, in some versions of software and TVs, it allows you to initiate the transfer of photos and videos from the gallery.

Wired connection via HDMI
