What soap is suitable for Xiaomi dispensers: composition requirements

The mechanism of automatic dispensers Xiaomi is sensitive to three parameters of the liquid:

  1. Viscosity is the optimal range: 100-300 mPa·s (like water with honey), too thick soap clogs the tubes, liquid soap flows through the valve.
  2. pH level - should be in the range of 5.5-8.0. Acid or alkaline solutions corrode seals.
  3. Solid particles, maximum 0.1%, and soap base crumbs or undissolved salt crystals scratch the pump.

From factory funds, these requirements are suitable:

  • 🧼 Xiaomi Mijia Hand Soap (Article) DJT01ZHM) — pH 6.2, viscosity 180 mPa·s.
  • 🧴 Viomi Liquid Soap Refill (Article) V-SOAP01) — pH 7.0, viscosity 220 mPa·s.
  • 🌿 Deerma Natural Hand Wash (without Deerma) SLS) — pH 5.8, viscosity 150 mPa·s.

What can not be poured into the Xiaomi dispenser:

  • ❌ Concentrated detergents (such as Fairy or AOS — foam will clog the sensors).

💡

If you use perfume soap, add 1 teaspoon of glycerol per 100 ml to prevent the aromatic oils from dissecting.

Recipe 1: Baby Cake Soap (Best Budget)

This method is suitable for Mijia dispensers 1S viomi V1. Soap comes with pH. ~7.5. and viscosity ~200mPa·s – ideal for sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

  • 💧 500 ml of distilled or boiled water.
  • 🍯 1 tbsp glycerin (for softening).
  • 🌡️ 1 tsp salt (to stabilize consistency).

Instructions:

  1. Grate the soap on the grate or cut the knife into small pieces.
  2. Pour water and put it in a water bath. Heat, stir, until completely dissolved (do not boil!).
  3. Remove from the fire, add glycerol and salt. Stir and let cool for 2-3 hours.
  4. Strain through gauze or a small sieve to remove undissolved particles.
  5. Pour into the dispenser bottle through a filter funnel (e.g., from a coffee filter).

Viscosity test (a drop should drain from a spoon in 2-3 seconds)|

PH test strip (should be in the green area)|

Filtration through gauze (no sludge)|

Test dose (1-2 presses on manual mode)

Pros of the recipe: cheap, hypoallergenic, does not dry the skin. Cons: it may foam a little at the first use (passes after 2-3 doses).

What to do if the soap thickens after a week?
Add 50 to 100 ml of warm water, shake it and let it stand for 12 hours. If it doesn't work, heat it to 40 in a water bath.°C and strain again.

Recipe 2: Shower gel soap (for sensitive skin)

This option is suitable for dispensers with Eco Mode function (e.g. Viomi). V3). The gel texture does not clog the tubes, but the pH ~5.5-6.5 is safe for all skin types.

Ingredients:

  • 🧴 200 ml of shower gel without SLS (For example, Nivea Soft or La Cree).
  • 💧 300 ml of water.
  • 🌿 10 drops of essential oil (lavender, tea tree - if desired).
  • 🧂 ½ Xanthan gum (thickener, optional).

Instructions:

  1. Mix the gel with water in a plastic bottle. Close the lid and shake for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add the essential oil and xanthan gum (if you need to thicken). Stir the mixer at low revs.
  3. Let the mixture stand for 1 hour - during this time the air bubbles will disappear.
  4. Put it in the dispenser through a funnel. If the soap is too liquid, add more. ¼ ch.l. xanthanum gum.

Compatibility with models:

The dispenser modelRecommended viscosityDo you need xanthan gum?
Xiaomi Mijia 1S180-220 mPa·sNo.
Viomi V2 Pro200-250 mPa·s0.5 tsp per 500 ml
Deerma CM600150-200 mPa·sNo.
Xiaomi Smart Soap Dispenser 2220-280 mPa·s1 tsp per 500 ml

💡

Xanthan gum is the only safe thickener for Xiaomi dispensers. Alternatives (agar-agar, gelatin) crystallize and spoil the pump.

Recipe 3: Antibacterial soap with chlorhexidine (for public places)

This recipe is relevant for dispensers in offices, schools or hospitals. Chlorhexidine 0.05% kills 99% of bacteria, but requires strict adherence to proportions - if an overdose can damage plastic parts.

Ingredients:

  • 🧼 150 ml of liquid soap with neutral pH (e.g. Dove Sensitive).
  • 💧 200 ml of water.
  • 🧪 50 ml of chlorhexidine Bigluconate 0.05% (sold in a pharmacy).
  • 🌡️ 1 tsp glycerol (mitigates the aggressive effect of the antiseptic).

Instructions:

  1. Mix the soap with water in a glass container.
  2. Add chlorhexidine and glycerol. Don't stir too much, the foam will reduce the effectiveness of the antiseptic.
  3. Pour into the dispenser through a filter funnel (chlorhexidine can react with metal).
  4. Use for 2 weeks - after that, the antibacterial properties weaken.

⚠️ Warning: Do not use chlorhexidine above 0.05%, which will cause the sealing rings to break down in the pump, and do not mix it with iodine or hydrogen peroxide (excreting toxic gas).

Alternatives to chlorhexidine:

  • 🧴 Miramistin 0.01% – less aggressive, but more expensive.
  • 🌿 Tea tree oil (10 drops per 500 ml) is a natural antiseptic, but weaker.

Recipe 4: Aloe Vera Soap for Dry Skin (with Moisturizing Effect)

If the dispenser is in the bedroom or nursery, this recipe will help avoid peeling the skin. Aloe vera gel restores the hydrolipid barrier, and panthenol accelerates the healing of microcracks.

Ingredients:

  • 🧴 100 ml of liquid soap based on coconut oil.
  • 💧 200 ml of water.
  • 🌱 50 ml of aloe vera gel (100% concentrate).
  • 💊 1 ampoule of panthenol (5 ml).
  • 🍯 1 tbsp. honey (optional, for additional moisturizing).

Instructions:

  1. Heat the water to 40.°C and dissolve honey in it (if you use it).
  2. Add the liquid soap and the aloe vera gel. Stir with a corolla.
  3. Put the panthenol in and stir it again. Don't stir it up, so it doesn't foam.
  4. Let the mixture settle for 3-4 hours. If there is a sediment, strain.
  5. Put it in the dispenser. Store it for no more than a month (natural components spoil).

Compatibility with skin types:

Type of skinRecommended frequency of useAdditional supplements
Dry, prone to irritation2-3 times a day+ 1 tsp jojoba butter
Normal.3-4 times a dayNo additives.
Fat, troublesome.1-2 times a day+ 5 drops of tea tree oil

Recipe 5: Repeated dilution concentrate (economy option)

This is a good option for those who want to save on consumables, and you make a basic concentrate that you dilute with water as you use it, and the main advantage is that it lasts up to 6 months (as opposed to the finished mixtures).

Ingredients for concentrate:

  • 🧼 200 g of soap base (e.g, STEP BY STEP Soap Base).
  • 💧 100 ml of water.
  • 🌿 20 drops of essential oil (optional).
  • 🧂 1 tsp salt (preservative).

Instructions:

  1. Melt the soap base in a water bath (not higher than 60).°C).
  2. Add water and salt, mix until homogeneous.
  3. Remove from the fire, add essential oil and pour into small bottles.
  4. To use, dilute 1 part concentrate with 3 parts water.

Savings: 1 bottle of concentrate (250 ml) replaces 1 litre of finished soap — ~50 rubles against 300-500 rubles for Xiaomi’s branded consumable.

⚠️ Warning: Do not store the concentrate in metal containers - the soap base reacts with aluminum. Use glass or food plastic (marking) PP or PET).

Top.-3 Mistakes that spoil Xiaomi’s dispenser

Even a perfectly cooked soap can make a machine fail if you break the rules of operation, and here are the most common mistakes and their consequences:

  1. Using unfiltered water, chlorine and hardness salts settle on the tubes, narrowing the lumen, and in 2-3 months, the dispenser will start to emit an error. E1 (Solution: Use distilled water or pass tap water through the filter Barrier.
  2. Hot soap pouring. Temperature above 50.°C deforms the plastic parts of the pump. Symptoms: leaks, unstable dosage. Solution: Cool the mixture to room temperature before pouring.
  3. Ignoring cleaning: Soapstone and bacteria accumulate in the tank, causing an error E3 (Solution: Wash the dispenser 1 time per month with vinegar solution (1:10 with water).

How to know if the dispenser is broken because of soap:

  • 🔴 It's on display. E2 or E3.
  • 🔴 Soap is given out in jerks or drips by itself.
  • 🔴 The pump is buzzing, but no liquid is coming in.

💡

If the dispenser stopped working, first check the filter on the inlet valve - in 80% of cases the problem is in its clogging.

FAQ: Frequent questions about Xiaomi Dispensers Soap

Can I use shampoo instead of soap?
❌ No. Shampoos contain silicones and conditioning additives that form a film on the tubes. After 1-2 weeks, the dispenser will start spitting or stop working altogether. SLS (for example, Bübchen), But they need to be diluted with 1:1 water.
How often should you clean the dispenser if you use homemade soap?
📅 1 time in 3-4 weeks - for soap based on baby piece or shower gel. 📅 1 time in 2 weeks - if the composition has natural oils (aloe, honey, essential oils). How to clean: pour vinegar solution (1 tbsp. l. per 200 ml of water), turn on Cleaning Mode (if any) or manually pump liquid.
Will this recipe be right for Xiaomi’s 2018 dispenser?
⚠️ Older models, like the Mijia First Generation, used less-protected plastic, and for them, Don't use essential oils (corroding seals); Replace chlorhexidine with miramistin; don't add honey or aloe, they can ferment in the tank. The best option for old dispensers - a recipe №1 (baby soap) without additional additives.
What to do if the dispenser makes an error E2 homemade?
Mistake. E2 It means a filter or tube clog, and it's a procedure: Turn off the dispenser, remove the tank and rinse it with warm water, clean the inlet filter (usually under the tank lid) with a toothpick, pour clean water, and turn on Self-Cleaning (if any). If the error remains - disassemble the pump and wash it under running water (instructions for your model are on the Xiaomi website). ⚠️ Do not use needles or metal objects to clean – they will damage silicone seals.
Can I add alcohol for disinfection?
⚠️ Only isopropyl alcohol 70% in concentrations of no more than 5% of the total. Ethyl alcohol (even medical) can: Eat plastic parts with prolonged contact. Dry the skin (if the concentration is higher than 10%). ignition when hit by heating elements (in models with heating). Alternative: use benzalkonium chloride (0.1% solution) - it is safe for engineering and effective against bacteria.
