Integration of the Xiaomi ecosystem with Yandex’s voice assistant opens up new horizons for home automation: users can control light, climate and appliances with voice through Alice Mini’s column or Yandex’s app. It’s not just convenience, but the creation of a full-fledged smart environment where scenarios work without human input.
The interface is based on data exchange between vendors' cloud servers. A stable Internet connection is critical to the success of an operation. If the router is running correctly, the setup will take no more than a few minutes, after which you can give commands like "Alice, turn on the humidifier" or "Alice, what's the climate in the living room?"
It's important to understand that direct Bluetooth pairing is not used here. All the magic happens through Wi-Fi and cloud APIs. That's why the region of the Mi Home account must match the region of the device's association, otherwise the smart speaker will not see the gadget in the list available for synchronization.
Equipment and software requirements
Before you start setting up, make sure you have all the necessary components. The basic element is the Yandex Mini column itself or any device with Alice built in. It should already be set up, connected to the Wi-Fi network and linked to your Yandex ID account.
Xiaomi will need a smartphone with the Mi Home app installed. This is the central control hub. The version of the application should be relevant, as in older builds, the authorization protocols may differ. Also make sure that all Xiaomi gadgets have already been added to the Mi Home app and work correctly from there.

Mi Home Account Preparation and Regional Settings
The most common connection error is region mismatch: Xiaomi servers are geographically separated, and data from the Chinese server will not be visible to the European integration gateway. Open the Mi Home app and go to profile by clicking on the Profile tab in the lower right corner.
In the settings section, find Settings and select Region. If your devices are connected to the China server and you are trying to link your account via Yandex’s European interface, synchronization will not occur. You need to select the region corresponding to the place of purchase or initial setup of the gadgets.

What if the devices are scattered across different regions?
Authorization and Skill Reference Process
Go to the main stage. Open the Yandex or Yandex Home app on your smartphone. In the bottom menu bar, select the Devices section, then click the Plus button or Add the device. In the manufacturer list, find the Xiaomi Mi Home logo.
Once you have chosen a brand, the system will suggest you log in. Press the Link to Yandex button. You will be taken to the username and password page from your Xiaomi account. Enter the data from the account that is configured in the Mi Home app on your phone.
During the authorization process, you may receive a request to confirm access to data, you must allow Yandex to access device management. Without this permission, the column will see the account, but will not be able to send on or off commands.

Use the Yandex app with geolocation enabled. Sometimes Xiaomi security system blocks the entrance from new ones IP-Addresses, and the sign-in confirmation will come via push notification to Mi Home on the phone.
Once you successfully enter the password, you'll see a list of rooms and devices, and the system will suggest that you distribute the gadgets to the rooms, which is an important step in the way that the scripts work, for example, if you say, "Alice, turn off the lights," it will turn off the lights in the room where the speaker is, unless otherwise indicated.
Scenario setting and voice control
Once synchronized, the devices appear in the Yandex app. Now they can be voice-controlled. Commands can be either direct ("Alice, turn on the air purifier") or composite. Use the Scenarios section of the Yandex app to create complex chains of action.
You can create a "I'm at home" scenario that turns on the lights in the hallway at the same time, triggers the Xiaomi humidifier and turns on the TV. The trigger can be not only a voice command, but also a time of day or a sensor reading. For example, if the Xiaomi temperature sensor shows above 25 degrees, Alice can start the air conditioner.
Voice control supports natural language. You can say, "Alice, make the light warmer," if you have a Yeelight or Mijia color-temperature-adjusted smart lamp on, and it recognizes context and changes the Color Temperature to warmer shades.

If the Mi Home app calls the lamp "Mi Smart LED Bulb Essential (White and Color)", rename it in Yandex to simply "Lamp in the room" to make voice control easier and make communication with the assistant more natural.

Call the devices short and clear, masculine singular words (TV, Humidifier, Light) and this greatly improves Alice's speech recognition accuracy.
Solving typical synchronization problems
Sometimes accounts are connected but devices don't appear or become inaccessible. First, check the status of the servers. Technical work on the side of Xiaomi or Yandex can temporarily interrupt communication, in which case waiting or re-authorization helps.
If the devices are missing, try finding Xiaomi Mi Home in Yandex, press Unlink, and then re-bind the linking procedure. This updates access tokens and resets caching errors.
⚠️ Note: When you untie your account, all scripts created with Xiaomi devices will be deleted. Write down complex settings or take screenshots before reassignment to quickly restore the logic of the work.
Another common problem is the delay of the command. If you say "turn on the light" and the lamp lights up after 3-5 seconds, the problem may be a weak Wi-Fi signal at the Xiaomi device itself.

Integration allows Xiaomi devices to be used as triggers for other brands, such as Xiaomi’s door-opening sensor, which can launch a siren on a Yandex Station speaker or send a notification to the phone, making disparate gadgets a single security system.
Use modes. You can configure the "Sleep", "Vacation", "Home" modes in the Mi Home app. When you switch these modes through Alice's voice command, all Xiaomi devices will change their states according to the rules, which is especially convenient for the evening ritual of turning off the entire house in one phrase.
For advanced users, settings are available through Yandex Station with Matter support (in new models), which provides local management without access to the cloud, which increases response speed, but for most Xiaomi devices, the cloud method is still used.
