Xiaomi Vacuum Mop P combines powerful dry cleaning and delicate wet cleaning โ but to make the latter work effectively, you need to adjust the right setup. Many users face problems: either the floor remains dirty, or the robot leaves the divorces, or the wipe quickly gets dirty, all this is solved by competent calibration of parameters in the Mi Home application and taking into account the characteristics of flooring.
In this article, we will not only discuss the basic wet cleaning settings (mode selection, water supply intensity), but also the hidden features that the manufacturer does not advertise: how to adjust areas with different humidity, which wipes are better used for laminate or tiles, and why the robot may refuse to wash the floor in some rooms.
Preparing the robot for wet cleaning: what to do before the first launch
Before you activate the wet cleaning, make sure that the robot is ready for it physically. Xiaomi Vacuum Mop P comes with a special water tank and microfiber wipe, but this is not enough for quality work.
- ๐ง Installation of a water tank: it should be tightly fixed on the base of the robot. If the container wobbles, the water will spill past the napkin.
- ๐งผ First wipe: new microfiber is often covered with factory impregnation that interferes with absorption. Handwash it without powder at 30ยฐC.
- ๐ฑ Update of firmware: older versions of the software may have water-adjusted bugs. Check relevance via Mi Home โ Device profile โ Update.
- ๐ซ Removal of protective stickers: transport stickers that block the water supply may remain at the bottom of the robot and the tank.
Pay special attention to the type of flooring. If you have flooring or unlaminated board, wet cleaning is contraindicated - even minimal humidity can cause deformation. For such cases, the settings have the option of Dry cleaning in the area, which we will talk about later.
๐ก
If the robot makes unusual sounds when it's applying water (gurgling, creaking), it's likely that air has accumulated in the tank. Remove the container, shake it, and set it back before you click.
Setting up wet cleaning in the Mi Home application: step-by-step instructions
All wet cleaning options are controlled through the official Mi Home app, open it and go to your robot section.
- Click on the robot icon, then select Settings โ Cleanup Modes.
- Activate the Wet Cleaning Switch (can be turned off by default).
- In the section Intensity of water supply, select one of three levels: Low (for laminate, linoleum) Medium (for tiles, marble) High (for severe pollution, but the risk of divorce)
Save the settings and return to the main screen.
You can use zonal settings to fine-tune it, for example, if you have tiles in the kitchen and you have laminate floors in the hallway, create two zones with different water intensities.
- Press the map. โ Add a zone.
- Circle the desired area and select Wet Cleaning โ Water level.
- Repeat for other areas.
- โฐ Wet-priority schedule: You can schedule the robot to do wet cleaning first and then dry cleaning, which is useful in the kitchen, where you need to remove greasy stains first and then dust.
- ๐ Automatic wipe rinse (dock-only models): If you have a Xiaomi Vacuum Mop P Pro with a wipe wash base, turn on the option of rinse after cleaning in the settings. The robot will wash the napkin itself after work is completed.
- ๐ซ Removing areas from wet cleaning: You can prevent the robot from washing the floor in certain places (for example, under the carpet or at the doorstep). To do this, create a No-Go Zone on the map and select the type of restriction Wet cleaning.
