Voice assistant Alice from Yandex has become an integral part of the ecosystem of smart home, but many owners of Xiaomi equipment face difficulties in integrating it. Unlike the standard Google Assistant, which is pre-installed on most of the brand’s devices, Alice requires additional manipulation – especially when it comes to Mi TVs. TV, Smart speakers or even smartphones with MIUI. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways of setting up, including official and alternative methods, and also tell you how to avoid typical errors.
It’s important to understand that Xiaomi doesn’t provide direct firmware support for Alice, so the integration process depends on the type of device. TV (2022 and newer models, the assistant is installed via Google Play, and on older Mi TV PatchWall will require a workaround, and we tested all methods on 2023-2026 devices and collected only working solutions.
What Xiaomi devices support Alice?
Before setting up, check the compatibility of your device. Alice officially works on the following types of Xiaomi equipment:
- 📺 Google TVs TV Android TV (Mi TV A2, X Pro, Q2 On PatchWall models (e.g. Mi). TV 4S) will require manual installation.
- 📱 Smartphones with MIUI 12 and higher (including Redmi Note 12, Xiaomi 13, POCO F5). Alice is installed as a separate application.
- 🔊 Smart speakers and displays: Xiaomi Smart Speaker, Mi Smart Display (only via Yandex IoT).
- 💡 Smart home: Yeelight light bulbs, Mi Smart Plug sockets (via Yandex Station or Alice in a smartphone).
On devices with MIUI for Russia (e.g. Xiaomi) 12T Pro Alice can be pre-integrated into the system menu, but often requires additional authorization. If your model is not listed, check the alternative methods in the circumvention section.
Preparation for setting up: what to do in advance
To avoid installation errors, follow the preliminary steps:
- Update your firmware. On your TVs, go to Settings. → On TV. → System update. On smartphones: Settings → The phone. → Update MIUI.
- Create a Yandex account (if not) Alice requires authorization through Yandex ID. Register at the website passport.yandex.ru.
- Connect the device to the Internet. Use 5GHz Wi-Fi (for TVs) or mobile Internet (for smartphones).On some Xiaomi models, Alice refuses to work through the Internet. VPN or proxy – disable them before setting up.
- Install the Yandex app (for smartphones) or Yandex Browser (for TVs) from Google Play.
For PatchWall TVs, you will need to:

Customization of Alice on Xiaomi TVs
The process varies depending on the TV's operating system. Below are instructions for Google TV PatchWall.
Method 1: Installation on Google TV (Mi TV A2, X Pro, Q2)
On Google TVs TV Alice is installed as a regular app:
- Open Google Play on your TV.
- In the search, enter “Yandex Alice” and select the official application from Yandex LLC.
- Click “Install” and wait for the download to be completed.
- Launch the application and log in via Yandex ID.
- Accept permissions to access the microphone and location.
After installation, Alice can be called:
- 🎤 Say “OK, Yandex” (if the microphone is supported).
- 🖱️ From the remote: press the Google Assistant button (if any) or open the app manually.
Method 2: Manual installation on PatchWall (Mi) TV 4S, 4A)
On older PatchWall TVs, Alice is set through APK-file:
- Download the latest version APK Applications "Yandex" from the APKCombo website (choose the version for Android) TV).
- Transfer the file to the flash drive and connect it to the TV.
- Open the File Manager on the TV and start it. APK.

What if Alice is not installed on PatchWall?

Setting Alice on Xiaomi smartphones
On smartphones Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO Alice is installed as a regular app, but there are nuances with permissions and integration into the system.
Step 1: Installation of the application
Download the official Yandex app from Google Play or Mi App Store.
- Open the application and log in.
- Go to the Alice section (the microphone icon at the bottom of the screen).
- Click on “Set up voice assistant” and follow the instructions.
Step 2: Set up a voice call
To Alice react to the phrase “OK, Yandex”, do:
- Open the phone settings → Annexes → Application management → Yandex.
- Enable permissions for Microphone, Autostart and Background work.
- Return to the Yandex app and activate the Voice Call option in Alice’s settings.
⚠️ Note: On smartphones with MIUI 14 and higher Alice may conflict with the built-in Google Assistant. To avoid problems, disable Google Assistant in Settings: Settings → Google → Settings for Google apps → Search, Assistant and Voice Input → Voice assistant.
Step 3: Integration with a smart home
If you have Xiaomi smart home devices (like Yeelight light bulbs or Mi Smart Plug sockets), plug them into Alice:
- Open the Yandex app and go to the Smart Home section.
- Click “Add Device” and select Xiaomi from the list.
- Sign in through your Mi Home account and allow access.
Once synchronized, you can control the devices with a voice, such as “Alice, turn on the light in the living room” or “Alice, turn off the socket in the kitchen.”

Bypassing restrictions: if Alice is not set
On some Xiaomi devices (especially Chinese versions or custom firmware), Alice can be blocked.
Method 1: Use of an alternative launcher
On PatchWall TVs:
1. Set up the launcher ATV Launcher or HalLauncher via APK.
2. In the new launcher, install the application "Yandex".
3. Return the standard launcher - Alice will remain in the system.
Method 2: ADB-smartphone-team
If Alice doesn't start on MIUI, perform in ADB:

Xiaomi Smart Home Management through Alice
Once you have Alice set up, you can control Xiaomi devices in voice. Here are the basic commands and examples:

- 🔌 «Alice, turn off the socket in the bedroom – control Mi Smart Plug.

For a smart home to run smoothly through Alice, all Xiaomi devices must be connected to a single 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. A 5GHz network can cause synchronization problems.
Solving common problems
If Alice is not working properly, use these tips:
Problem 1: Alice doesn't hear commands
Possible causes and solutions:
- 🔇 Microphone is turned off: check permissions in Settings → Annexes → Yandex → Permits.
- 📶 Weak Wi-Fi signal: connect your device to a 5GHz network or restart your router.
- 🔊 Google Assistant conflict: Turn it off in settings MIUI.
Problem 2: Xiaomi devices are not displayed in Yandex Smart Home
Checklist for elimination:
- Make sure all devices are connected to Mi Home and Cloud Management enabled.
- Reconnect your Xiaomi account in the Yandex Smart Home settings.
- Update your firmware on devices (e.g., on Yeelight light bulbs via the Yeelight app).
Problem 3: Alice is flying out or slowing down
Recommendations:
- 🧹 Clear the app's cache: Settings → Annexes → Yandex → Warehouse → Clear the cache.
- 🔄 Reinstall the app.
- 📱 On smartphones, turn off battery optimization for Yandex: Settings → Battery → Optimizing the battery → Yandex → No restrictions.
