The process of localizing the robot vacuum interface is closely related to the account settings and choosing the right region in the companion application. The global version of the Mi Home application already contains all the necessary language packages, including Russian, but they may not be activated automatically due to geolocation or settings of the device itself. Understanding the logic of the manufacturer's cloud services will help avoid unnecessary movements and resets.

Preparation of the smartphone and the Mi Home application
The first and most critical step is to install and initially configure the control software on your mobile device. Without a properly running Mi Home app, synchronization and system setting changes are impossible. Make sure your smartphone has the latest available version of the program installed, as older builds may not have the latest language packages or support for new models of vacuum cleaners.
Download the app exclusively from official sources: Google Play Market for Android devices or Apple App Store for iOS. Third-party modified versions may not work stable or have access to the necessary servers to download language resources.
Once installed, launch the app and create a new Mi Account or log in to an existing one. If only English or Chinese is on the list, this means that the current firmware version or account region does not support Russification for that particular model, in which case only changing the account region, as described in the previous sections, or flashing the device will help.

Problem Solving with the Chinese Version (CN Version)
Owners of devices labeled as “Chinese Version” often face a tight binding to Chinese servers, which can stubbornly refuse to speak Russian even if all the settings on the phone are correct, and the problem is that “Chinese” default to the belief that their user speaks only Chinese or English.
There is a proven method to solve this problem without flashing the hardware, and you need to change the region in the Mi Home app to China, and then add the device again if it has been removed, or just log in to its settings.
If you're in China, go to your device settings. In some cases, even in China, modern firmware versions allow you to choose the interface language. Find Voice or Language and try to switch to Global or English/Russian. If you don't have that option, then we'll move on to the next step.

Check for updates in your device card. Usually, a notification of a new version appears as a red circle with a number or a pop-up when you log in to the application. You can also check the version manually: Settings → About device → Check for updates.
The Over The Air (OTA) process requires a stable connection, make sure the vacuum cleaner is in the charging station and the battery is at least 20%, and if the charge is low, the system blocks the installation of updates to avoid failure.
During the update, the indicators on the body can flash randomly, and the robot itself can make sounds. It is strictly forbidden to remove the charger plug from the socket or close the Mi Home application (you can fold it into the background, but it is better to keep the screen active) until the process is completed 100%.
