Important: the procedure for the iPhone is different from Android instructions! There is no direct access to the device's file system, so you'll have to use workarounds. But don't worry, we've tested all the methods on the latest versions of iOS 17 and vacuum cleaners firmware from 2023-2026.
1. Which Xiaomi vacuum cleaners support the Russian voice?
Not all Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners are capable of playing voice alerts in Russian, and here is a complete list of devices for which Russification is officially or unofficially available:

If your model is not in the table, check it on the Mi Home website under Supported Devices. For older vacuum cleaners (for example, Xiaomi Mi Robot 1S), the Russian voice may not even be in alternative firmware.

2.Official method: change the language through Mi Home to iPhone
The easiest and safest method is to use the official Mi Home app, which is suitable for most new models (S10, Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro, etc.), where the Russian localization is already sewn into the firmware, but disabled by default.

- Update the Mi Home app to the latest version in the App Store (version 6.5.400 is still relevant at the time of writing).

3.Why does the Russian voice not appear after the change of language?
Even after setting up properly in Mi Home, the vacuum cleaner can continue to "speak" in Chinese, and here are the main reasons and solutions:
- 🔄 Outdated firmware: Russian voice added only in the latest updates. Check the software version in Settings → About the device and update (see section 4).
- 📶 Connection problems: The vacuum cleaner must be connected to Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only.
- 🔊 Disabled alerts: Some models have voice messages turned off by default. → Voice alerts.
- 📱 Mi Account Region: If your Xiaomi account is registered in China, change region to “Russia” in your profile settings.

4. Update the vacuum cleaner firmware through the iPhone
