There are models that work exclusively via Bluetooth that can't be connected directly to Alice without a gateway or a smartphone with a constantly active application.
Make sure your device supports the Internet of Things (IoT) protocol, usually on the box or bottom of the case next to the voltage marker, and if the kettle connects to the Mi Home or Yeelink app and is controlled over the Internet when the phone is on another network, it is compatible.
