Incoming calls can be a real challenge if you need to focus on work, take a break from socializing or avoid annoying spam calls. Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones offer several ways to completely block all incoming calls, from standard features to hidden engineering menu settings. In this article, we will analyze all current methods, including their pros, cons and possible pitfalls.
It is important to understand that blocking calls completely can have consequences: you will miss not only spam, but also important calls from banks, delivery services or loved ones. So check alternative solutions before using any method - for example, setting exceptions for individual contacts or using the Do Not Disturb mode with flexible rules.
This article covers models on MIUI 12-14 (including Xiaomi 13/14, Redmi Note 12/13, POCO F5/X5), but most of the ways work on older versions. If your smartphone runs pure Android (for example, POCO F6 with HyperOS), some menu items may differ - we will mention this too.
1.Block all calls through standard MIUI settings
The easiest and safest way is to use the built-in MIUI features. It does not require superuser rights and works on all Xiaomi models without exception.
To enable a full lock:
- Open the Phone app (the tube icon on the home screen).
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select Settings.
- Go to the section "Block numbers" (or "Black list" on older versions of MIUI).
- Activate the switch to Lock Unknown Numbers.
- Go back and select Additional Settings β Block all incoming calls.
Some firmware (MIUI Global) may not have the "Block All Calls" option, in which case:
- π± Add all contacts to the blacklist (via Select from contacts) β mark out).
- π Use Do Not Disturb mode with the Block All Notifications setting (more in the next section).
- π§ Install a third-party application to lock (section 3).
Create a backup copy of your contacts|Check the important numbers for exceptions|Make sure you have an alternative way to communicate (messaging)|Turn off missed call notifications if they interfere-->
An important nuance: once blocked, all incoming calls will automatically be reset, but the log will remain records of missed ones. To hide them, go to Settings of the phone β Call Log β Hide missed ones.
2.Use of the "Do Not Disturb" mode for total lockdown
DND (Do Not Disturb) allows you to flexibly configure not only calls, but also notifications, and unlike the previous method, you can create exceptions for individual contacts or applications.
How to set up:
- Open Settings β Sound and vibration β Do not disturb.
- Activate the mode and select Rule Settings.
- Install Block All Notifications and Block Calls.
- In the Exclusions section, add the numbers that must be called (e.g. 112 or Family contacts).
- Click the Schedule to enable the schedule mode (for example, from 22:00 to 8:00).
Advantages of the method:
- π Works on schedule (no need to be manually enabled).
- π Blocks calls from WhatsApp, Viber and other messengers.
- π΅ You can leave vibrations for important contacts.
Several times a day |1-2 times a week |Sharply increased in recent months |Nearly call-->
Limitation: On some models (Redmi 9A, POCO M3), it is impossible to completely block calls from unknown numbers in DND mode β they will pass without sound, but with vibration. To fix this, combine the blacklist method (section 1).
3. Third-party applications to block calls
If standard MIUI features don't work, you can use specialized applications, and they offer advanced features: geolocation blocking, cloud spam analysis, automatic blacklisting of fraudsters.
Top.-3 Proven applications for Xiaomi:
| Annex | Features | Cons | Reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Truecaller | Spam number database, caller identification, SMS blocking | Requires access to contacts, advertising in the free version | Google Play |
| Call Blocker | Blocking on masks of numbers, log of blocked calls | Interface in English, no Russian-language support | Google Play |
| Hiya | Protection against fraudsters, integration with the operator | Not all countries, limited functionality in Russia | Google Play |
How to configure Truecaller to lock completely:
- Install the application and register.
- In the settings (β β Blocking: Enable Blocking All Undesired Calls.
- Activate the option to block hidden numbers.
- In the Blacklist section, add spam prefixes (e.g. +79xxxx for Russian scams).
π‘
If after installing Truecaller stopped coming SMS from banks, add their numbers in the exceptions in the application settings.
Warning: Some applications (such as Call Blocker) may conflict with the standard Phone app on MIUI. If incoming calls even from allowed contacts are lost after installation, clear the Phone app cache in settings (Settings β Applications β Application Management β Phone β Storage β Clear cache).
4.Blocking through the Engineering Menu (for advanced)
If you need to completely disable incoming calls at the modem level (including system calls), you can use the engineering menu. This method requires caution: incorrect settings can lead to loss of the network.
Instructions:
- Open the Phone app and enter the code: ##4636###
- In the menu that opens, select Phone Information (or Phone Information).
- Scroll down to the Set Radio Band or Network Type section.
- Click Turn off radio (this will shut down the network completely, including calls and the internet).
To get it back, restart your phone or re-enter the engineering menu and select Turn on radio.
What if the mobile Internet disappeared after changes in the engineering menu?
Note: On HyperOS models (e.g. Xiaomi 14 or POCO F6), the engineering menu code may not work. Instead, use the MTK Engineering Mode app (for MediaTek processors) or Qualcomm EngineerMode app (for Snapdragon).
5. Operator-level locking (USSD-team)
Some mobile operators allow you to temporarily block incoming calls through the Internet USSD-This is convenient if you need to turn off calls for a certain period (for example, during vacation).
List of commands for popular operators:
- πΆ MTS: Dial *111*31# Follow the instructions (AntiAon serviceΒ»)
- πΆ Beeline: *110*789# (Blacklist serviceΒ»)
- πΆ MegaFon: *130# β Β«ServicesΒ» β Β«Locking down callsΒ»
- πΆ Television2: *220*1# (Peace of mindΒ»)
Usually the lock is valid for 1-7 days, after which it is automatically turned off. Check the rates with your operator - some services are paid (for example, MTS costs ~ 3 rubles / day).
π‘
Operator locking works even if the phone is off or out of network coverage.
Important: Once the service is activated, all incoming calls will be forwarded to voicemail or reset. To return everything back, dial:
- For MTS: *111*30#
- For Beeline: *110*789*0#
- For MegaFon and Tele2: Repeat the activation command and select βDisableβ.
Extreme measures: shutdown SIM-maps or "On the Airplane" modeΒ»
If you need to be guaranteed to disable all calls (including system and emergency calls), you can physically deactivate the phone. SIM-This is a good way to use a map or a "On the Plane" mode, which is suitable for situations where other methods do not work or require a 100% lock.
How to turn off SIM-map:
