Xiaomi Mi TVs have long since ceased to be just a screen for watching movies, they have become full-fledged multimedia centers. One of the key advantages of modern models (from the Mi TV 4A to the flagship Mi TV Q2) is the built-in Bluetooth module that allows you to connect wireless headphones, speakers, gamepads and even keyboards. However, many users face the problem: the feature is either missing from the menu or does not work after updating the firmware.
In this article, weβll look at all the possible ways to activate Bluetooth on Xiaomi TVs, including hidden settings and workarounds for legacy models. Youβll learn how to test your modelβs support for the technology, where to look for a switch in the menu (if any), and what to do if Bluetooth suddenly disappeared after the system upgrade. And a unique method of turning on through the engineering menu for MIUI TV firmware older than 2021, which is not even written in official forums.
1. Check Bluetooth support for your Xiaomi Mi TV model
Before you try to turn on Bluetooth, make sure your Xiaomi TV supports it at all. Not all models have this module - especially budget series until 2019.
- π Model: Mi TVs TV 4S, Mi TV 5, Mi TV Q1/Q2, Mi TV A Pro and newer have built-in Bluetooth.Mi models TV 4A (2018β2019 ) and Mi TV 4C β most often not.
- π By characteristics: Find a box or documentation - look for Bluetooth mention 4.2/5.0 under the heading βWireless technologies".
- π§ Through Settings: Go to Settings β On TV. β Specifications. If there's a Bluetooth string on it, the module is present.
If your model doesn't support Bluetooth hardware, the only way out is to use an external adapter (which we'll cover at the end of this article), but first, let's get to the software activation.
2. Standard way to enable Bluetooth via menu
On most modern Xiaomi TVs (MIUI TV firmware 3.0 and later), Bluetooth is enabled in a few clicks.
- Take the remote and press the Settings button.
- Go to Connections and Sharing (or Network and Access on older versions).
- Select Bluetooth.
- Move the slider to the on position.
- Click Device Search and select your device from the list (earbuds, column, etc.).
If you don't have a Bluetooth item on the menu, don't panic.
- β The module is disabled at the firmware level (solved by reset or update).
- β Your model does not support the function (see section 1).
- β The TV is in "guest mode" (some functions are limited).
Charge headphones/column up to 50%+
Make sure the device is in pairing mode (flashing indicator)
Disable other Bluetooth devices within a 5-meter radius
Reboot the TV (remove the plug for 30 seconds)-->
3. Hidden method: Turning Bluetooth on via engineering menu
If you donβt have Bluetooth in your standard settings, but youβre sure you have one (e.g., model specifications), try activating it via the engineering menu, which works on MIUI TV 2.0-4.0 firmware (2018-2023).
Attention: improper actions in the engineering menu may cause system failure.
- On the remote, press sequentially: Back β Back up. β Menus. β Menus. β Up. β Up. β Down. β Down. β Left. β Right. β Left. β The Factory Menu menu should open.
- Go to the Connectivity (or Wireless) section.
- Find the BT Enable option and set the value 1 (included).
- Save the settings and restart the TV.
After the reboot, the Bluetooth item should appear in the standard menu. If not, try updating the firmware (more on this in the next section).
What to do if the engineering menu is not opened?
4. firmware update as a solution to Bluetooth problem
A common reason Bluetooth disappears is outdated or "curved" firmware. Xiaomi regularly releases updates that add new features or fix bugs. Here's how to update your TV:
- π Automatically: Go to Settings β On TV. β Update system. Click Check Updates. If a new version is available, install it (Wi-Fi connection required).
Manually:
- Download the latest firmware for your model from the official Xiaomi website.
- Copy the.zip file to a flash drive (FAT32).
- Insert the flash drive into the TV and select Update via USB in the update menu.
Important: After the update, reset your network settings (Settings β Network β Network Reset) to avoid conflicts with Bluetooth.
| Model TV set | Minimum firmware version for Bluetooth | The Last Stable Firmware (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Mi TV 4S (2019β2020) | MIUI TV 2.1.45 | MIUI TV 4.0.32 |
| Mi TV 5 / 5 Pro | MIUI TV 3.0.1 | MIUI TV 4.2.15 |
| Mi TV Q1 / Q2 | MIUI TV 3.2.0 | MIUI TV 4.3.8 |
| Mi TV A Pro (2023) | MIUI TV 4.0.0 | MIUI TV 4.4.1 |

If Bluetooth still doesnβt work after the update, try rolling back the firmware to the previous version. To do this, download the archive with the desired version and install it via USB (see the instructions above).
5. Alternative ways to connect Bluetooth devices
If none of the methods worked, but you urgently need to connect wireless headphones or speakers, consider these options:
- π§ Bluetooth transmitter: External adapter (e.g, 1Mii B06 or Avantek APTX) plug-in AUX Or optical output of the TV and transmits the sound to headphones. Cost: from 1,500 β½.
- π‘ Wi-Fi Direct: Some Xiaomi models support Wi-Fi audio transmission to compatible speakers (e.g. Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker).
- π USB-dongle: Adapters on a chip CSR 4.0 or Broadcom (e.g. Asus) USB-BT400) can be connected USB-TV port, needing support OTG.
If nothing helps, contact Xiaomi with the model and firmware version.
